I’m in Thailand and inadvertently lost my wallet/day planner, literally my entire life plus almost £500 in cash; I’d never normally carry money but was about to pay a cash deposit later in the day!
Anyways, absolutely raging at myself I set about cancelling cards etc, what a pain in the arse!
Expats and visitors are meant to register with Thai authorities, although plenty don’t, that said your passport is normally copied by most hotels.
Two days later I received a call from hotel reception, my wallet etc had been found and was at the local police station!!!
Lo and behold, everything, including the £500 was present and correct; Genuinely couldn’t believe it! I insisted the police give me the details of the finder, he unbelievably wouldn’t take a reward, not even a beer for his trouble; he simply smiled, shook my hand and said “you’re welcome”
Share your stories of human kindness and let’s generate a few smiles today
Oh, and if you’re ever in Thailand, make sure you register with the local authorities, you never know when you’ll need their help! |

That's brilliant OP!
Last year, we was in a little financial pickle and was doing all we could to save pennies, so doughnut was using his app from work to buy a voucher to use while in Sainsbury's, it was the last of his money before pay day, we needed some food and other bits, just stuff to survive about 5 days, usually if that desperate we would just eat whatever was left in the cupboards but his son was down and he is a fussy eater and stuff.
He bought the voucher but clicked the wrong button and wasn't an E voucher but one sent to the house, he realised and tried talking to the manager who obviously said it wasn't his problem and he started putting stuff back, this kind lady said "I'll get this", it was around £20 so not massive amounts, he said no thank you lots of times but she got one of the staff to take him over to the till, she paid for it and I've never been so thankful to someone in my life, she said "you've got a child, just pay it forward". Which we have done multiple times, now we are back on our feet, we've donated lots of food to different places and will continue to do so, one person's kindness has led us to helping lots of people in a time that is very very needed. |

That's fantastic OP! We have a tendency to focus on, to talk about the negativity but forget that actually... people aren't, for the most part, inherently awful.
I've experienced great kindness from strangers and I think I could never be cynical about people as a whole as a result of that. |
