Love the Sinister Bottom Cafe, it's the best around!
Please can I have eggs Benedict on granary toast and smashed avocado. I don't suppose I could have a side of roasted cherry tomatoes in a honey balsamic glaze? And the largest pot of tea you can muster.

I'll tie him to that board if he doesn't get moving.
My hollandaise is perfect, it's rich and creamy consistency is a thing of beauty. |

The trust and lusty MB will bring it over with a flourish.
I have asked him not to flourish over the customers, but he insists they love it. |

Miss Spinster
So far this morning you've threatened to tie me to the specials board if I dont hurry up (still waiting by the way )
You've been talking about beating and battered and now you are going to tan Mr Chub's white bits if he upsets the customers.
I thought we were still working on the kinky café launch
Is this market research to gauge the audience |

Of course, for you nothinh too much trouble. I am sute I speak ftom both of us. You are lucky as we did get more red than white cabbage and our garlic mayo is all homemade and to die for. Tango is on the house as is salsa
Urgh, kebabs. This is as low as I've stooped for a while.
Thanks both.
I'll probably be up for some foie gras on a rocket base in a couple of days, some polenta as well please.
Could you make sure the polenta is prepared in the Italian way though - the French way kills too many of the flavours and textures xx"
Absolutely and will be ready for you when you are |

"The Sinister Bottom Café has "winner" written all over it.
But I'm a tad concerned - what have the two of you done with Mobile Spinster?
Is she in a safe place?
She's in the kitchen, turning out excellent food for out guests.
MB is flourishing all over the customers whilst he serves their food.
I've got pocket rocket out back, polishing the specials board.
Other than being slightly short tempered. All is well (hopefully).
Can I get you anything Nicky ?
Nicky is 'infrequent' sinister but will have to serve him when he pops back in though ckearing up now for the lunch time rush and for the 3 for 2 cake special this aft.
May I have a dodgy doner at 17.17 please?
Pickled red and white cabbage (slightly more red), green chillies, lemon juice over the salads, garlic mayo on the meat.
An Apple Tango would complete it.
Thank you in advance if you can xx

Honestly - there you are lording it over kebabs, and you don't even know this ....telling....
I think it's something to do with doing really basic bits with the original food source (water and mixing), waiting a long time, then doing it again.
Whereas the French way does something, adds a few unwelcome bits (according to some Italians) to save time/cut corners, then serves it.
So the Italian is more "purist" in terms of the original food source - less distractions from other ingredients.
I'd still rather have a dodgy doner though xx |

So it's plain and rest it or add bits and whisk it and serve. I get it. I'm still gonna investigate further.

I would - it was a 6 way conversation at a party recently and I'm sure bits got lost in translation (literally - French, Italian, and English all going around).
It was pretty yummy in its French guise tbh...almost as nice as a kebab |

I've never cooked successful polenta and never had a kebab either.
My culinary journeys continue. |
