Ok I've got your attention.
When you are measuring (insert item here) it could be something fleshy n throbbing or wooden , maybe new net curtains or checking to see if that flash SUV will fit in your garage.
Point being what system do you use?
Inches.
CM.
mm.
Yard's?
As a carpenter I generally measure everything in mm occasionally inches but never ever use cm.
Let's be honest what sounds best when describing your peen length
20cm
Or
200mm ?

"I measured out old dining room table to put on Facebook recently I used a 30cm ruler, put a coaster at the end of the ruler and moved up etc so "ruler and coaster" is my final answer "
Ahhh the old ruler and coaster method as taught in the finest universities.

It’s generally best left to someone else to measure.
I once famously measured our back garden for a cabin.
I measured the area in feet, but gave the measurement in metres (or the other way around)….
In my defence - rulers and tapes really should only have one unit on them. Save confusion. |

It depends on what I'm measuring.
Work and most general measurements in metres, centimetres or even millimetres.
Body sizes and height is feet and inches.
Distances in miles unless its a short distance then meters.
