It was an instrument called a "hang drum".
It's like a therapy instrument that you've probably seen people playing in meditation type videos.
Looks like a dustbin lid, but makes the most beautiful sound.

Get a small one first, the smaller ones are generally called "tank drums"..and a lot cheaper.  |
