You are what you think about all day!
Jump to: Newest in thread
On a work day when I know a colleague is in and I'm taking over from them, I spend most of my time thinking about that and building myself up to resent going in (I have gone to my manager about how I am feeling and I'm not the only one who feels this way).

"Many various and random things, all pointless on the grand scale of things. I often find myself wondering what the view is like from the top of that tree.

Have you climbed any to see yet? |

I'm only ever thinking about whatever I need to do next. I rarely have things wandering around in my mind. I think my inner voices have abandoned me as a result of many years of overwork and poor salary. Sometimes it's great not to have things rolling around my mind, but mostly it leaves me feeling quite lonely and feeling almost like I'm just a machine ready for the next task. |

I feel for you… and you should really start focusing on yourself. Most employers know how to suck the life out of us. But that should not mean that you let them! |

I thought you'd say you're thinking about your next gig but you are obviously in a job that maybe you once loved but now hate, the trouble with jobs is you are there to make the person that owns it money at the same time as making you money to survive, my last job (i quit a couple ofmonths ago) i worked 12 hour days 5 days a week and when on call i could work between 19 hours to 24 hours in that day sure i got paid well but I'm a great believer in work life balance, so now I'm having the whole summer off, will look for a job in the winter. I think you need a new job if thats all you think about |

Kelly Rowland fuming that Nelly wasn’t texting her back but she wrote the message in an excel spreadsheet in the music video for dilemma so how could he have known she was trying to text.
I don’t think I am Kelly Rowland but I’m not great with excel either |

No, I didn't articulate that clearly. I hardly work at all now - I'm doing a 2 day week until my job finishes at the end of June, and I then get a few months off.
But I need to make lists of things I need to do. I used to have a very overactive mind and think about 5 million things at the same time. I can't put my finger on when it happened, but the thoughts no longer go on in my head.
So when I'm talking about 'my next task' it's whatever is on my list of things I need to do - whether that's doing the laundry, my paid work tasks, or paying my credit card bill. That's how I manage myself without the voices reminding me what I need to do, or worry about. |

Today from the moment I woke up I was only thinking about the FA cup final. As a Man Utd fan my first thoughts were let’s not get humiliated today. Then the game started and we put in a good defensive / counter attacking performance and not only did we not get humiliated we actually won the FA cup.So if I am what I think I guess I was nervous and now a winner. |
