Maybe I should choose my words better lol think the question is there cancer in my family freaked me out a bit. Sorry if I worried anyone didn't mean to and thank you all for caring means a hell of a lot to me xxx |

Van, try not to worry to much about it hunni. I have to go on Tuesday for a colonscopy and have a biopsy... They give a local so you'll not feel a thing! Positive mind an positive thoughts and you'll be OK! |

Are you sure they give you a local? I'm not sure how they manage that along 4 foot of colon
I thought they just gave you a mind sedative to help you relax. |

Are you sure they give you a local? I'm not sure how they manage that along 4 foot of colon
I thought they just gave you a mind sedative to help you relax."
I had to have one a few years back and I didn't have a local I was sedated!
You don't really feeling anything just a strange sensation and a slight pulling when they do the biopsy!! It doesn't hurt at all.... |

I don't think the colon has many pain sensors so there's no need to numb it.
My most recent biopsies were in the armpit and breast area, they didn't numb me and there's a lot more pain receptors there! If I can cope with that I'm sure you can tough it out with a colon biopsy.  |

Yep your right, its just a sedative. I've read all the pack details i received in the post this weekend..
Nothing to worry about van. My sis says, its the gunk you have to drink which is the worst bit! |

I'm doing tickety-boo here thanks Van. Don't put yourself through the wringer. They are not sadists and will not let you suffer unnecessarily. Try not to worry about things till they happen. If/when they are going to happen, then is the time to worry. Save yourself sleepless nights and try to be positive till then. xx |

I'm feeling very positive at the moment just when they mentioned the c word I felt the bottom of my world drop out but now I say bring it on I can beat this.  |
