Me too. I haven't travelled outside of the British Isles for a few years now. Instead i go exploring around our own shores. Pack up the motor, book a cottage or campsite and off i pop for an adventure. There is so much to see on our own islands that many never bother with. For me it's a never ending source of exploration and adventure. |

Most of my travels I've done on my own whether in a relationship or not. There's only been one country i thought better of going to on my own but that's bc it was at the time known as murder capital of the world. In that instance I chose to be with people. |

Not yet but I am hoping to have my first solo trip in late September/early October - will be my first proper break in 10 years!
Can any of you seasoned solo-ers recommend the best places to book with? I have been looking at easyJet holidays just because the price already includes everything but wondered if there may be some hidden gems? x |

I wouldn't book everything together. That being said if you've not been away alone before it will probably take some stress out as they'll sort everything I assume, transfers and whatnot? |

Yeah, flights, hotels, luggage, transfers. I don't get much time to look about so it appeals. |

I love a solo trip and go on quite a few, home and abroad. I'm currently planning an overland trip from Buenas Aries to Rio. I can't wait. That will be the biggest I've done. More often than not that are smaller trips in my camper |

I never thought I would, but have been off on my own to do things that don't interest Mr KC. Mainly language immersion courses and have met some wonderful people from all over the world. I'm missing out this year and very triste not to be going |

When I used to be more adventurous I used to regularly holiday by myself or the odd time on organised tours. Mainly around the US and a couple of coach tours around Europe.
Best was a month long train trip across the centre of America, starting in San Francisco, taking in Denver, Chicago, North and South Dakota, Seattle, Portland and back to San Francisco.
Unfortunately been few years since have had the energy and mental ok for such trips |

I always find getting a regular taxi at the airport far easier and cheaper than some prepaid transfer bus.
I think travelling solo may be hard to do cost effectively as a package holiday because they normally based on 2 sharing a room.
I’m on plane to Tbilisi now and just booked a hotel for 3 nights £120 using booking.com it’s right in the centre of the old town by the river. A taxi will take me there for £5-£10. It’s not stress at all it’s really simple…. |

i have done a few on my own, a couple of package trip abroad but its was better to book the bits yourself and then you can sort out your own transfers etc.
I went to China for 9 months by myself, organised it all and just got on the plane and went - its great once you get used to doing it |

I went on my first solo trip when I was 18, I went to Byron Bay in Oz and met people from all over the world, the experience blew my mind and I've had the bug ever since.
I've often gone to an airport without a ticket and just found a travel desk and asked them to book me on the next flight to anywhere.
I'm newly single again and can't wait to continue my solo journeys.
And as others have posted above, you are never on your own unless you choose to be.
If I had the cash and time, I'd pack my backpack and go somewhere tomorrow. |

I’m only adult on our holidays and opted to take dog with us for company got me as kids so their thing.
Downside is I can’t persuade them to the bar at the place so I could actually talk to adults but I’ll work on that this year |

I have those holidays as well but my solo (kid free) holidays are utterly bliss and totally different. Don't have to persuade anyone else to do anything as you can do totally as you please. |
