Tom saw new packaging on Gary's crisps this week announcing 45% less salt on his crisps. There was even a choice between Gary's new crisps and his old recipe. Now this is all fine and dandy.
Tom then notices that Kronenbourg lager which used to be 5% alcohol has secretly been reduced to 4.8% with bugger all on the can to draw your attention. Same happened with Stella Artois and Budweiser. Is Prime Minister Macron behind this. Are we being punished for Brxit? What's going on here guys? It's all over the news |

Idon't eat crisps so have no clue, beer has a duty(tax) that has different rates applied dependent on strength
Brewers, by reducing abv have all been raking more profit from price increases while paying less duty win win for them.
Heineken reduced abv on most if not all of their beers in the uk this year john smiths is now 3.4 fostrrs same, carlsberg did similar
Not brexit profiteering |

Salt and vinegar is not either of our preferred flavours and walkers isn’t out preferred brand, but having Gary on the bag would definitely make us choose an alternative.
As for the beer, this is definitely because of the duty charged as others have said. Price increases are not easy to implement in a crowded market such as beer, so companies are finding other ways to remain profitable. |

Yeah the answer about beer was all over the news mate about 6 months ago.
It's why I tend to go for reliable Belguim beers that actually have taste and body to them.
As for crisps I absolutely loved the Naked Walkers with no salt at all and often buy the packets with the little blue sachet and don't use it, save for work or cooking. |

Tom where would we be in this world without your updates. I wouldn't know that there was a choice of crisp recipe OR that 0.02% of alcohol in a drink I don't drink had been filched on the sly ....
Amazing. Today crisps, tomorrow the world! |

"Do what they like to crisps but don't mess with my lager, I just checked and yes I have 4.8 1664 in my fridge sly fuckers. "
Exactly Toms point. If they meddle with my Heineken then Tom will not be happy |

To make things worse than it already was 1664 is not 4.8 as it's stated but 4.6, just had a good look as it's in really small print on the back of the can now 4.6 percent it's fucking criminal I knew it tasted different but didn't realise it was because they were adding piss to it, I probably won't be able to sleep tonight I'm so angry. |
