Why is my timing filled with such bad luck.
I can’t book holidays I want because some fuckers I’ve gone in before me at the start of the year. How am I supposed to know the days I want to have off last year for this year. Ffs.
And it’s those bastards that go booking Christmas holidays a year in advance too, because I’ve just looked at our work calendar and they’re all fucking booked off by the same people as last year.
*sighs.
Feeling sorry for myself a little right now somebody please tell me my luck is about to change? |

Ah, that perennial problem of working in a team. As a single girl with no kids I'm lucky I can book my holiday outside of school holidays, so rarely clash with colleagues, but god help me if I want any time off over Christmas - the parents in the team have all booked it off as soon as the school holiday schedule is published! |

I know that feeling I've not been able to have any time off with my kids because of that so far this year and the rest isn't looking great either

That’s it as soon as the calendar goes up, you have one guy checking the fucking Internet for every bank holiday in the year so we can strategically get 15 days in a row by booking two days holidays.
Then you’ve got the guy who fucking monopolises Christmas when booking the days in between (I’m not really bothered about that because I work in anyway, but don’t tell him!)
You kinda get the shit days are left over that nobody wants to go away.
I just needed one day, I wanted to book one days holiday and two people are already off. Fuck my life. |

My company also does a rotation for employees, so if you booked last year, it would be the turn of someone else this year. I think it’s fair and people have the option to choose to let others take their place if it’s urgent or needed. |
