Car insurance WHAT THE FUCK!!
Jump to: Newest in thread
just had an email from our car insurance company saying that due to an increased amount of thefts of our make and model of car over the past year they are unable to offer us a renewal in July.
Thanks LV.
Does this mean others won't insure us also and, it's not a sports car or anything special in fact it's a 2011 model so hardly new. |

Kinda in the same world- registered my address with Royal Mail 7 months ago as I’m in a new build, but the insurance companies don’t have an up to date list of addresses on their system, so my car cannot be insured ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

Bunch of robbing, scamming bastards they are. I’m not quibbling the need for insurance, but the prices they charge and the seemingly irrelevant reasons they give for putting the prices up? They do it because they can, they know we’ll pay because we don’t have any choice in the matter. |

I have just renewed the insurance for my Skoda Yeti, the premium was 20% more than last year,to be honest I was expecting it to substantially more.
I sold my Fiat 500 fun car yesterday so one less to worry about.
LV are the company advertising car insurance from £290 on TV. if only. |

I had this. They wanted to go from a few hundred to several thousand.
Told them to do one, went on the meerkat site whilst they were on the phone and got a quote cheaper than I was already paying.
All because their underwriters hadn't risk assessed the new postcode.
Try a broker if the comparison sites don't work. ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

I've just down graded my car and got something slightly smaller and supposedly a cheaper insurance group too... yet it's just cost me over 100 pound to change it and get cover
Pretty sure it's all just a licence to print money |

It’s mental, I’ve got an 09 plate rang rover, these are not being taken but my insurance has more than doubled this year- the only thing that has changed is another year of no claims!!! |

Changed my car. And found an insurance that was a little cheaper than what i am paying.
To cancel my current insurance is £75. … so there goes my savings. I decided to stay because of that, and to change my details to my new car cost me 35£ admin fee. …. F’ckin scandalous. |

Prices around here have gone up lots too, though there are loads of accidents involving deer locally and repairs are really expensive. Might be worth checking prices for third party fire and theft cover |

I left LV a year ago because the premium went through the roof. Switched to Admiral which was much more reasonable. Since then there has been news of huge price hikes so I was expecting the worst. Just got my renewal notice and It's £46 dearer than last year. I do have the Admiral app on my phone which monitors driving smoothness and phone use while driving. I have a good score on that so worth having if you're a careful driver. |

You're paying extra due to non insured drivers and people making fraudulent claims, Oh wait they have flooded the country with ANPR cameras and limited the amount you can claim after a accident so what excuse are they using now ? |

We lost our brand new tesla in the Luton Airport car park fire back in October. Admiral were really great. They put it down as a non fault and a claim value of £0. Our insurance renewed in February - we fully expected it to increase significantly but it actually reduced by £100. We were very happy to say the least |
