Birmingham

After today there are 24 Wetherspoons in the West Midlands I have yet to visit.

Is there a particular chain you like to visit in any new town or city you go to?

.

Starbucks during Pumpkin Spice Latte season. I've been to possibly too many Starbucks when it's likely there are better offerings but I give zero hoots.

I try to use small local cafes rather than chains.

Starbucks do a very nice hot chocolate though.

Harvey Nichols. In my area of the British Isles there are seven branches. I still need to visit the ones in Edinburgh, Leeds, Bristol, Manchester and Liverpool. The Birmingham 'branch' was, umm, just nice.

Small independent places can be brilliant or terrible.

The thing with chains, they tend ( but not always) give you consistency ...that matches your expectations. So there is much to be said for that.

I prefer the small independents whenever I go somewhere and live finding a good one. It means it's a little treat to myself if I ever go back

I try to use as many of the independents as possible just because they need the money more

Can appreciate people supporting independent places

Guess I just have a thing for Spoons my home from home, especially with the tea refills and a good book.

2 more West Midlands ones ticked off, though have a long way to go to match others who have done each of the over 800 spoons in the UK

Wolverhampton

One of these days Weatherspoons might use their planning permission and finally build their museum in Wolverhampton. Then you'd have an excuse to visit OP

I'm hoping to visit the London branch of legendary actor Danny Trejo taco restaurant over the half term holidays.
