If the woman chose the bear over the man, I'm choosing the bear. I can't be doing with that drama. I'll get the bear a fish or something and we'll sit quietly.

You come across a d*unk bear in the woods asleep next to it is a huge pile of crates of your favourite beer.

So you leave it be or grab a crate and run off with it?

The original proposition of man Vs bear is nothing more than something that gained traction on the internet. No one in their right mind would choose a bear over a man. Everyone would choose the man every time because the bear is going to kill everyone it meets. It's literally a bear.

People have, and I am aware I'm now falling into this rubbish myself, used this internet trend as a way to highlight the dangers men present and the fear some women feel around them.

Of course women should feel some apprehension around strange men. We're physically stronger and in some cases were aggressive. I've been invited into the houses of women I haven't met and I've been careful to park my car round the corner, and I've been wary just in case there's some guy in there. It's just normal sensible behaviour to be wary of men.

So when someone chooses the bear, I think bleurgh. You're just making a point that doesn't need to be made. Kind of like this point I'm making that didn't need to be made either.

Why should it be accepted as normal sensible behaviour to be wary of men? Why can't men control their emotions?

Do you not see that by claiming it's all just drama you're doing the exact thing many women use as a reason for choosing a bear? You're not believing them and their hypothetical choice!

Because we can't. And haven't throughout the entire history of human evolution. Men are fuelled by testosterone. It pushes us forward. To think that all of a sudden men are going to not be aggressive, angry, demanding etc, is to not know men. And as a man, I know men are like this. Go to a gym and watch the men lift weights. Every one grits his teeth with aggression.

Sooooo.... To choose the bear is bollocks. It's moot. Men are like men. Women are like women. And bears are like bears.

If you don’t get it

A right off passage in Dagestan wrestling is you have to wrestle a bear

Then maybe they should be locked up for everyone's safety, and definitely not given positions of power.

This is what you're saying, isn't it? That men are disabled in this way and can't be trusted?

By the way, the argument of locking men up goes back to the Yorkshire Ripper. But it's always poo-pooed because it wouldn't be fair to punish men for the actions of some men. And here you are, telling us that it's innate.

But this person is saying all men. And he's saying that it can't be helped.

Then maybe we should take men and put them in a place with other people who can't control themselves. (I think the psych wards are a bit full already, we might have a problem)

(I don't actually believe all men, I believe people can control themselves, I'm just taking the argument to its logical conclusion. If it's all men, and it's innate, then we should treat them like any other criminal or severely unwell person)

It's not a counter argument.

Oh the drama of it all

What is it then?

Evie

Evie

Because we can't. And haven't throughout the entire history of human evolution. Men are fuelled by testosterone. It pushes us forward. To think that all of a sudden men are going to not be aggressive, angry, demanding etc, is to not know men. And as a man, I know men are like this. Go to a gym and watch the men lift weights. Every one grits his teeth with aggression.

Sooooo.... To choose the bear is bollocks. It's moot. Men are like men. Women are like women. And bears are like bears.

Hi mate, I'm a man. Quick question, but I'm a man perfectly able to keep my aggression, anger, demands and testosterone-driven urges in check. Am I broken?"

Did the man-borg let you admit that in public? That men can, in fact, control their own actions?

Someone call the army. This must be against bro code or something

I'm not fuelled by testosterone.

I very rarely get angry. Even less so demanding. Can't recall the last time I was aggressive.

Nor do I do gyms or lift weights.

Pretty sure I'm still a man though.

Yikes"

For my part as a man I am careful around men and women. Yes men can be a problem, but I've not had an issue since school.

5 years ago I had a big issue with a woman on another site who stalked me, became demanding and I really am happy I never got to the point of taking her home.

Men and women can be dangerous I fear both.

I am confused. Are we all still stuck in the woods? If we are then I am going to go and find Woodys crossroads because that part of the woods seems a lot less stressful than this part.
