A friend of mine I spoke to to recently told me he's bought advanced tickets for multiple events.

Spent a fortune.

Absolutely fucking love the Olympics will watch as much as I possibly can especially the swimming and the track cycling and triathlon,I was fortunate enough to be a games maker at 2012 for the triathlon.

With the exception of the equestrian events I pretty much love it all.

Every Olympics I pick 1 event… and watch it beginning to end… it’s fun being that invested

In Beijing it was water polo

In London it was archery

In Rio it was shooting

Haven’t decided on the sport this time yet…

I like seeing a lot of sports that usually aren't featured much on TV like Judo and weightlifting.

I watched race walking and it looked hilarious but intense. Looking forward to breakdancing making its Olympic debut

love the equestrian events - know some of the people going - but love watching sports you dont normally see on TV - things like the diving, Tom Daly competing again, the cycling was good last time - rowing, like sports

I preferred the Olympic when the games only allowed amateur athletes. Been a fair few years since then.

I enjoyed the skateboarding. They are so skilful.

Surely then we would only watch certain running events, a few throwing events, equestrian events and the wrestling? Actually no. Wrestling wasn't original. It came in 708 BC.

776 BC for the Olympics themselves and 708 BC for wrestling. Apparently!

I'm curious about which sports you think are amateur but in the current Olympics?

Track n field, cycling and swimming are defo professional sports nowadays, with Lottery funding and sponsorship deals etc. I'm sure that's the case for most modern Olympic sports, for the UK at least.

"What sites will it be on or is it just a TV thing?"

The bbc will be allowed to show 4 different sports at any given time live ( so they will probably go 1 on bbc1/2, 1 on bbc3 , plus 2 “behind the red button “

To watch everything “live” you will need discovery+….. if you subscribe to TNT sports either on your tv or through your mobile phone subscription, you’ll already have it

Something was bugging me so I went and checked.

In the UK there is 2 tiers of discovery plus… if you have sky, and are a sky Q customer, you will have the basic tier package included

If you are subscribed to TNT sports… you will have there premium tier package included

I “think” with the basic package you will get the Eurosport Olympic coverage, and the premium you will get everything live…
