I have 2 fur coats that belonged to my grandmother. One fox, one mink. She had a few others we let go... Now, it's horrific to skin an animal for its fur! But it's also a part of history? Do we keep these? Or dispose like the animals never existed? |

Thats an interesting ethical question. But I guess there is a practical question, where would it be acceptable to wear then? Or would people assume its fake fur |

I'd never wear one, but it seems a double loss of a life to throw them away? |

Depends, is there spunk stains in the fur? |

I’d say wear them. It’s the most respectful thing you can do. If someone does challenge you on wearing fur, you can say you don’t agree with real fur but you want to respect where they came from.
Selling to a vintage collector is also a good idea. |

I think most people these days would assume its fake. I doubt there are many that would identify it as real fur on sight.
The other question is if you have an emotional attachment to them, and if you think you would ever wear them. If not, what is the purpose in keeping it in your wardrobe? As others have said, there are likely specialist collectors. |

Why no knickers on? Get the old joke.. But I own a lot of fur... Do I skip round a stone circle to bring em back to life? Or do I say it's pretty shitty to skin animals

"We had this issue after my gran died. The coat didn't fit me but it does my sister. She's worn the matching hat out, but she said the coat was too warm to actually wear. "
This is the issue. My grandma's coats are amazing |

I think it would be wrong to get rid of them now that you have them. It is almost a mark of respect to the animals to use them for something practical - I appreciate why you might be reticent to wear them out but would they work as blankets or something similar for when it is really cold in doors? |

Keep them. They're "family" and a part of history.
When someone from PETA asks what poor animal died so you can wear that you can answer, "my grandmother" |
