The NHS recommends nothing less than SPF 30.
An SPF 30 allows about 3 percent of UVB rays to hit your skin. An SPF of 50 allows about 2 percent of those rays through. That may seem like a small difference until you realize that the SPF 30 is allowing 50 percent more UV radiation onto your skin. |

I'd wear SPF150 if it was available. That's how crap my skin is. I have to reapply SPF50 very regularly. |

If there's a tester pot, I'll try but I'm allergic to so many things and reluctant to pay so much for something that might bring me out in hives ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

"Erm... You're meant to use sunscreen?
Yes Joe! I wear it. You're going to age rapidly if you don't. Say farewell to your fresh face."
Is there anything for that dead behind the eyes look as well? |

Yes
Sounds like effort
It is. But I like not having skin cancer and not looking 85 at the age of 38 "
Fair and understandable |

I usually buy what's on offer, I love the quick dry sprays for the body.
Super drug own brand 30/50 for face.
I've had skin cancer, so I would urge everyone to at least make an effort with it. Unless you want bits cut out of you and scars, or worse ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Has someone mentioned Baz Luhrmann already?
It depends where I am. Rarely more than F15/30, but I'll slap on F50 if I'm skiing. Not too fussed about brand, but like the Piz Buin bottles so nearly always buy those... |

Ah yes, skim reading again. It's the only piece of life advice I've remembered.

"I discovered a once-a-day suncream a few years ago. Was very skeptical at first, but it worked, I did not burn and did not have to reapply every 5 sec. "
Works for our daughter but not me unfortunately. I'm obviously too pale ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I have doubled the thickness of our tin foil, just to be on the safe side, actually ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

I burn easily.
Best one I had was an Ironman branded one(triathlon not the tin man) that was brilliant I used it many times during training and racing, sunbum is pretty good.
Never less than factor 50.
When doing ironman Lanzarote a few years ago I found a pharmacy that did factor 90 it was extremely thick.
Trick is to get one that allows the skin to breathe and not clog up the pores.
I really don't understand why people brag about not using suncream,it's dumb! |

If I went into the sun without suncream, I'd simply burn to a crisp, be in agony with the burns and potentially cause myself to develop skin cancer. I'm tough as fucking nails, but I'm not tougher than the burning ball of hydrogen and helium in the sky. |

We used to rub coconut oil all over and lay in the sun . If we didn't have that we used cooking oil. |
