So basically how many times do people read your messages but completely ignore you. i would say im at about a 95% ignore rate. |

We get ignored maybe 95% of the time.
We ignore maybe 50% of the messages we recieve since they are low effort/one word |

I’d say 25% I only message people I’m interested in, I send a message which reflects our mutual interests and do so in a tone which is becoming of meeting someone at a bar

A few, but someone people take their time to reply? I’ve had replies a couple of weeks after sending a message, you just don’t know what the other person is doing, or how they use the site. Don’t get stressed, just be patient, and only message those profiles you genuinely feel you might be a match with   |

OP, whenever you send a message just delete it immediately from your Sent Folder. It does your wellbeing no good by keeping sentry around the messages you have sent and their respective read/unread statuses. |

I don't really send cold random messages out. I will only message a profile if I think there is an initial attraction and there is a match to what we are looking for.
Even then the reply rate is low, but that is just how it is. There are two options really.
1. Go with it
2. Delete account

Over the last 10 years I'd say that I have a 5% response rate to messages that I've sent as the initiator; more recently though, over the last 6 months that figure has dropped to 1%. I don't consider this ignorance though, as people aren't obliged to reply but I would love to be more successful on here but I guess that what clubs are for. |

It's about a 99% rate we get a reply from males.
Females, it's about 40% rate we get a reply.
Couples, is about a 70% rate for a reply. |

I don't think I have sent more than 40 messages to women and couples for the entire time I have used the site (Had previous account) I mostly message those who post in the meets & events sections now.
I would only message someone if their verifications were from people of a similar age and race to me. |

I often consider messaging your profile but then I look at your location and consider my disappointment when it gets deleted unread.

A fair few, which is fine tbh.
Biggest issue with guys on this site is that they never read the profile, or their messages don't give off any spark which would help continue a conversation, or it's very clearly a copy/paste job sent to hundreds of others.
Fellas, you gotta realise that the majority of men are letting the minority down. The thing is though, it's not going to change anything because the people spamming inboxes aren't on the forums trying to have a conversation with people. |

Am I a bit of a throbber if I say very rarely? It's very rare. I sometimes take the risk and message someone but most of the time I'm sure it will be welcome. A mix of vag power and off the back of forum threads. |

I’m very board so I worked it out. So from the 57 messages sent over the last three months. 30 of the people I sent a intro message either never looked at the message or looked and didn’t reply. So that’s 54% that didn’t reply and 46% of people that did, which isn’t bad to be fair for me. I’m surprised I thought the number of none reply’s would have been much higher. Not saying though it amounted to anything more then pleasent chats but that doesn’t matter as I enjoy making connections and not just scoring |

Depends what your going for mate. Everyone likes to get their rocks off, but if you accept that as a bare minimum you will be somewhere hopefully with like minded people that you might have a laugh with to me that's £20 well spent.
If I'm honest I've had nights where I had no sex, they were far better than some where I've actually got to go into a room etc with people. Enjoy the company anything else is just a pleasant extra.  |

We don't message many people to start a conversation. We only message people who look very compatible and try to show that in our messages. Often they are peoplewho have winked at us so alreadyshown interest in us. I think we get replies to at least 60% of initial messages. |

I reckon a lot of guys wreck it for themselves by being inpatient. When I was in a couple on here my partner would frequently say something like: 'that guy who I thought seemed ok, the one I was going to message back... He's spat his dummy and started being a dick.' |

It might be low effort messages, age, looks, interests, something else. It’s hard to say but not everyone’s for everyone and we get several messages a day when active. We can’t fuck everyone and can’t respond to them all either. |

100% ignore rate so far but I'm lurking just now so I don't expect much and I haven't really tried to approach anyone anyway.
I still expect it to be high even when I'm not lurking given the amount of single guys on here so not sure I'll be heard above the noise.
I think clubs will be where I actually get some engagement when I get around to being a regular somewhere. |

Even as a couple it happens, so single men aren't out there alone in being ignored.
Whilst we have now got to a stage of brushing it off, no skin off our noses sort of thing, when we first joined it maybe.... not hurt, as such, but left you feeling "why" especially when you'd sent what you felt was a good opening message, and you "ticked the boxes" of what the other profile wanted. |
