"Faint but there in Exeter. Saving me a fortune on flying to Iceland
I was thinking the same thing! Could see them in Warrington but they’re gone now, pink and a bit of green "
We're not far from Warrington but can still see them. |

"I can't see a thing in London.
I can’t see a thing with my naked eyes. Used the mobile on night mode photography and managed to see them. "

Tbf, they aren’t as vivid as in other places. A friend shared photos in Scotland, it’s magical in comparison to what’s visible here. |

Absolutely. Built-up areas and conurbations aren't the ideal places to see such things. Lucky Scotland et al, and those North of the Watford Gap. (The area, not the American clothing store) |

Unusually, the Shetland webcams aren't picking them up.
BUT.. the map on west weather.co.uk is showing the strongest aurora I have ever seen on there. Unbelievable. Definitely another world war inevitable!
It wouldn't suprise me if they are visible in Brittany or even North western Spain. Anywhere with dark skies to the north like Exmoor, N Cornwall or the Channel Islands should be in luck.
Most of London is too well illuminated. |

I have friends in Pisa and San Gimignano Italy who had amazing vivid views of the lights. |

I saw it over east London - had to use the camera on my phone to see it - but it was vibrant! What a way to start my birthday - that’s something ticked off the bucket list - and from the comfort of my garden |

Happy Birthday!
I'm hoping to see them again tonight but it's pretty cloudy |

Just done a screen shot of tonight's map on West weather and it is back to normal levels. No further south than Hudson Bay an northern Scandinavia.
Last night it was much much stronger (shown red rather than green) and right down over most of the UK and North America.
I don't hold out much hope for a repeat show |

"None tonight in North London, presumably too much light from the urban area."
Plus the sad reality that it isn't happening anywhere tonight. Last night was a one off for this part of the world and not a recurring nightly show. Blink and you miss it, as the saying goes. There was a similar event in 1938. |
