There are some weirdos on here that can then use your face to track down your other social media etc.
Then there's the professions that would class being on here as bringing the profession into disrepute.
Personally for me it's both the above and I don't want some weirdo approach I me in a vanilla setting while I'm out and about with my family.

We've been here and on other kink sites for years with a public profile and had this discussion many times.
It's only damaging if you're in a position to be damaged by it.
Of course there is always risk. As there is with anything (online or real) and you need to exercise a degree of caution that's appropriate to you and the people who would be affected by your actions.
There is definitely an argument about safety (particularly for women) but that argument stands whether you're on Fab or not. Stalking and sexual abuse occur regardless of your online activity.
Think about how people in porn (both amateur and professional) operate. Then there is a huge sex-related industry where many people don't hide their faces (or even their true identities).

I'd say it's unwise to show face pics online. Facial recognition is coming and will be used as your ID for many aspects of life, banking, health, travel..... It will also be incredibly easy to trace a true identity. Be careful. |

Many people cant for whatever reason. Maybe they can't for work, can't because they are playing away or just plain don't want to. All valid enough reasons.
We show our faces because we have no reason to hide ourselves and most of our friends and family know we are swingers. |

There are 3 different schools of thought on this.
One where people like me have no wish to put their facepic up for all sorts of privacy and safety reasons.
Two, where people are comfortable having their face public.
Three, were some who have their face on show then claim they don't give a fuck about anyone seeing them and they don't understand why everyone doesn't do it.
Those are the same people who don't understand the principle of discretion and are very open about everything including other people's facepics and personal info. |

I am in a place where I don't mind anyone knowing I am on here, I'm open about it if anyone asks.
Still a lot of judgment in society though, so I can see why it is the norm to hide faces. |

I have my face showing in some of my pics, as that's my choice.
What I find hypocritical is people demanding face picture on the first message. At least exchange message and then exchange face pictures at the same time. |

Therss a lot of unsavoury people who could use your pics to try and defraud you, etc.
But if you assume its just swingers and no criminals it's preference isn't it... some people are very open with their sex lives and therefore ok with it and others value the discretion and anonymity of not sharing it.
personally I've had my face up before and I've been recognised and not created an issue, but I choose to hid it because its fickle enough without people being put off by my mug before we even chat. lol

As a woman, yes. It's bad enough people thinking they've seen me places locally without knowing what I look like... I dread to think what would happen if they could actually recognise me.
Some people have absolutely no boundaries and wouldn't think twice about approaching or sending a creepy msg.
I already have to deal with 5/6 local guys who keep setting up new accounts to just msg me on here, so imagine what they'd be like if they knew what I looked like?! |

I'm a single woman. Let's say I have face pics on public view. Some random from here recognises me and decides to follow me home/pay me a visit thinking that cause I have pics legs wide open and of me being shagged etc he thinks I'm fair game. Many on here do think like that. We're not all here for the same thing and that's fine. I take my personal life and safety seriously so would not have recognisable face pics. |

I personally wouldn’t and I am very aware of risks.
As Mimi said above, I already get multiple messages a day asking if it was me they saw at (*add random location*) so imagine if it was actually me.
I prefer to meet people face to face on Fab organised socials or clubs anyway. |

Personally, I don’t care, as you say we’re all on here and whoever sees us on here probably on this site themselves. However, the problem is for those in professional positions or simply just don’t want to be seen, as photos and videos can be downloaded off this site and posted elsewhere and in today’s world even used For ransom, . But as I said, I don’t mind showing myself, it’s not that I’m an oil painting or anything, just doing what we all do so I cannot be embarrassed by it |

On a site I was on 15 years ago pre fab, I had my face on there and someone sent me a message going in about how nice it was to see me as I'm doing the school run, and told me exactly which school it was, and my real name yet had they had a blank profile, was very unnerving |

I am too, but it's not always a perfect disguise. I recently had someone say they thought we knew each other so why not let them come over so I could suck them. I couldn't think of anyone I knew in that location and age range, so I said - before I blocked them - that I reckoned they were taking a speculative punt and hoping I'd respond. They then used my male name. 
I blocked them twice as fast. I don't think it'll be a problem, because I suspect they're someone who remembers me from an old job years ago. Plus they're on here with no pic and probably don't want anyone to know that either. Even so... I'm considering pulling all my face pics (so that's almost all my pics)  |

I think there are very varied reasons for being on here. Actually swinging, attempting quick hook ups, unicorn hunting, just seeing what's on at the clubs, feeding the exhibitionist streak, looking for quick wank fodder, cheating behind a partner's back, making an account just to see if someone you know is about.
Not everyone is on here with good intentions sadly. And swinging isn't something the majority of society considers normal or even acceptable.
I already find it severely creepy when some silhouette on here send a message about how they saw me at X bus stop at X pm and all the things they want to do to me after seeing me in person. It would only be worse if they had my face pic to confirm that it was me. They'd still be blocked. But I'd feel even less safe in the moment.
Anyone not wanting to put themselves or their livelihood at risk is just making a sensible choice. |

I used to be very careful. Wouldn’t even send a face pic privately. I’m no Clooney/Pitt/whoever but I know I’m not hideous so my line way always “I’ll walk away when we meet if I’m unacceptably ugly”.
Fast forward to the time AFTER someone bl@ckm@iled me, and now I don’t give a shit. The kind of organised cunts who tried to bl@ckm@il me will ignore anyone whose face is visible. But that doesn’t apply to plain nasty, vindictive individuals who may feel slighted or are jealous. |

We don't all have the same lives though. Jobs where you are public facing & in a position of responsibility create potential "issues" if you are open about your activities.
Parents will be outraged about a swinging teacher (but not one having an affair or using Tinder), or patients might think their swinging doctor or nurse should give them extras in the examination room.
The general public as a whole are not totally accepting of swingers... we are often viewed as sexual deviants.

I tend to hide my face in profile photos as seen colleagues and family on here.
On the occasions I have been asked for a face pic, 98% of the time its led to a block  .
I now ask for a face pic 1st so atleast I see my blocker lol..not that I'm bothered by it. |

I share mine, but then I also don’t share anything else too graphic so I don’t really care who sees it.
The only time it irritates me is if someone sees me on another site and says they saw me on here but don’t tell me who they are, then I usually just block them. |

I think my manager would bring me in for a "discussion" about my online conduct and how it could affect my employer, as well as how damaging it could be to my "professional reputation" if I had my face pic online. She did something similar a little while ago, over something I believed was innocent (nothing to do with any photos) but she opened my eyes to how much potential it had to destroy me, in the hands of people who wanted to cause issues for me. She did point out what I already knew about our staff team, that there are some really nasty people there, quick at pointing fingers, and more. So I am now much more aware what I post and where.
Also, I would rather not to have people recognise me in public- I like to keep my Fab life and my professional and personal life separate.
