So what do we think? Guilty? Innocent? And who is is really sick here? Gadd? Martha? Or maybe the millions who tuned-in to watch a clearly mentally ill woman grilled for 1 hour for their evening entertainment? |

I think I have literally no idea what this is about and I am very happy to be in that state of igonorance.
I assume Piers is Piers Morgan and he has done a thing but no idea who Martha is or what this about. |

I haven't seen it but have seen a few of the Baby Reindeer. It's ridiculous for people to assume the show is a full depiction of reality. The poor woman has perhaps done well to fully out herself, after death threats which would ruin life |

Sorry guys, should've mentioned Baby Reindeer in OP. Yes, she was nervous (who wouldn't be?) but also felt she was covering up. Felt uneasy afterwards about watching a mentally-ill person brutally grilled. She needs help imho. |

Who is the sick one? Piers |

For those saying 'who' .....
Baby Reindeer on Netflix was a semi factual dark comedy of relationships and human emotions and failings.
The writer and REAL dater is 'someone' Gadd who dated 'Martha' - He wrote of how pursuant she was and how other things in his life affected him ( it's clearly not factual/reality ) and he used some of his life experiences with exaggeration and hyped reaction for dramatic effect.
People tried to find the real martha and she felt threatened by their pursuit.
So now she's threatening netflix and others.
I'm not sure if her name is 'martha' in reality and I hope nothing comes of her threat. |

Agreed; remember that when he was editor of a news paper, that publication hacked the phone of a murdered child |

Yup good point - I reckon he'll get a kicking for rushing this out. |

I like Piers , always have.
That aside I do know the mistakes he has made in the past and he'd be the last to commend some of his judgements.
I didn't know about this interview but having seen Baby Reindeer I really want to watch this interview for comparison.
I can make my own judgement as to whether she is troubled or not and in any case........ there is NO reason why she should be in receipt of compensation. I am suspecting her name isn't even Martha.... |

Indeed - and as I mentioned, felt distinctly uneasy. Reminds me of the controversy when David Icke was interviewed, yet clearly (to some) completely off his rocker. |

We don't have Netflix and I haven't watched the interview. I'm not really interested in seeing either broadcast.
I can't criticise anybody who has watched because I was glued to a show about an Australian woman who lied about having cancer and made all sorts of spurious claims. |

I think the sick people are those who, after watching a dramatization of a true story, decided to hit the internet and spend their time trying to find the real life characters and send them hateful messages. |

But searching is inevitable isn't it? It's the digital age, we can find out pretty much anything with 10 minutes Googling. But yes, sending or posting hateful stuff is sick (but happens a lot online - here sometimes even). |

"Weird accent. Fifer? She said central belt but that’s not Glasgow or Edinburgh.
"
I pretty sure she is. I saw an interview with Richard Gadd and the woman who played Martha, he said she done the fife accent really well.
I haven’t watched the interview yet, but I’ve seen a few clips from it on social media. I think she definitely does have some mental health issues. Doing a televised interview probably wasn’t a great idea. |

With modern technology its so easy to block someone. So unless she was literally sending from a new email every day which is possible. But not very feasible to get a new phone number every day so why weren't the texts being blocked. Something is a little fishy here. Even if he felt sorry for her and delayed going to the police he would have blocked her. |

She reckoned she didn’t have his number. Not sure if you can block emails. Can you block on Facebook Twitter insta and all those things? |

Yes the real martha didn't get a prison sentence but mandatory mh care. Its a sad story for everyone involved. The press including snakes like Morgan are as usual profitting on the misery of others. Gadd of course opened himself up to it by creating this show. |

I've not seen the interview, but can imagine the poor woman just wanted to try and tell her story & stop all the hate mail/death threats. Probably not the best thing to do...
What I find worrying is the level of vitriol levied against her from keyboard warriors. Yes, she put him through hell but even Gadd states he did feel sorry for her in the end, as she's mentally unwell.
The "Darien" character though. That was calculated grooming & sustained sexual abuse. But let's all have a pop at the loony woman |

I think he adequately explained that in the show. He was so low that he "let" her contact him, almost encouraging it, then hating himself for it. Much like the Darien episode. |

I definitely haven’t and wouldn’t. Watching Piers is something I can wait my whole life NOT do. He is a cunt |
