I cant stand thè downer mentality, can you?

From the land of haribos.

I dont like the downer mentality, it is not cool. I mean this is just my opinion. I am not saying one are wrong with having it. I am talking about some gym edits that I sometimes see you might have seen them too, for example, where you see them say things like "if I dont hit this number on the bench. I am worthless" when they say that. I dont think that they are joking, but rather are serious about it.

Lets say that you are setting the baseline and this is the bar in the middle, about 50% in which you are not really particularly happy, but you are not upset about anything either, this is just neutral, this is your neutral state of being, the more you can stay up here the better.

I am not saying you have to be up right there at the top, 100% where you are having fun all the time, but generally be a little bit more positive about things in the middle.

It is going to reflect in how you act, it is going to reflect on how you persevere things, it is going to reflect on how you respond to anything you know negatively that comes at you.

Because the more that you can stay in the green, the more you can be pretty..... I dont want to say unbothered, but just say let anything which you could you know potentially upset you...... unnecessarily, just phase past you and not actually get under your skin, stuff like that, you are going to have more fun and it is going to let you focus on your own things so much more, because if that is your thing, if you get used to being chill, getting your stuff done, having your own kind of routine, so all I am saying there is regulate you thoughts a little bit more carefully, because as cool as working out is and everything else things is, your body is only going to follow where the min leads and if constantly in your head you are telling yourself negative things. I am not talking about like if you have got actuall hardship in your life  that is different, but just putting yourself down, so if this is you and you have been doing that, you have to change your thoughts to a more positive outlook, if everytime a negative thought pops in your mind, just smack it away.

What is your view about it and what do you think of the downer mentality do you agree with that?

I don't like being around people that are constantly negative, it's so draining. If I have negative thoughts, I just push it out. Life is so much easier when you have a positive outlook on things.

Too much negativity really gets to me, so much so it rubs off on me sometimes and that's not a good place to be.

I can be really negative myself, trying to overcome it and see the good in everything, it makes you happier I feel x

Let me tell you something you already know, Shag.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

Now if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!

I agree re people being unnecessarily negative.

We all have crap to deal with in our lives, and recognising / tackling those issues is not what I mean. I mean people who seem to go out of their way to find something to moan about, be worried or concerned about, beat themselves about, and generally revel in misery and try to spread it.

I have a friend who exemplifies this. I know him from playing golf together, and if you listen to his weekly list of moans, then he really should leave our golf club, as all he ever does is moan about it, he should give up golf, as he hates how he plays, he should leave the area he lives, as he is always complaining about it, and he should leave the country as he thinks it has gone to the dogs in every way.

Basically, he is positive about nothing, and is animatedly excited in complaining about … well, pretty much everything.

It must be exhausting living like that.

Sun’s out, enjoy today!

Life does hit hard and some people are able to ride the roller coaster and some struggle with it. Sometimes help is needed to get back up and keep going, some people cant keep going - again that's life and we are all different.

It doesnt have to be nasty - you face the challenges how you want to face them. I believe its about training your mindset to deal with it how you want to . I have taken a bit of shit yet i still, am , hopefully true to myself, crazily empathic to other's feelings and wouldn't want to do wrong by someone else. Now if that aint your bag that's fine - its mine and i have found i live better with my beliefs than trying to fit in someone elses.

I dont want to win at your life - Im happy with mine - and I also do find negative people very draining, but when I am with them, I do try and give them some of my positive energy - I am what i am

Not sure I can think of a single positive person I know who fits the assessment.

La la land

Pretend negativity for likes I can't stand. But it's there to draw in people.

Making your whole lifes worth based on one thing like the gym, and lifting that weight is also rather worrying if it is real with these influencers.

But there is a massive difference between pretend negativity for attention and for genuine negativity due to mental health. If someone is suffering with mental health issues I will try my best to help them.

I don’t get the downer attitude and because of that dropped 100+ people off my Facebook purely because all they posted was negative stuff and constantly moaning.

Sure, everyone has their off days but constantly being down on everything is just not doing you any favours.

Sagittarius A

When the thoughts I have about my emotions disturb me - I view this is an opportunity to discover an aspect of myself that I find difficult to accept. If I ignore it, then it will continue to resurface, like a bad itch. If I accept it, I can laugh at myself, until it becomes a forgotten memory.

My culture is geared towards mind-body dualism, non-duality is the remedy to redress that balance. My mind is my body.

I tend to match the energy of those around me very easily so being around anyone really negative and easily send my mood that way, although the overly positive people really have a habit of pissing me off quicker. So like everything, it's a balance, I suppose
