Afraid to do but so glad you did?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I am one of these people that are "I wish I did that" and regret it immediately when the chance has gone so yesterday for the first time in nearly 45 years, I swam in the sea, we were on a boat in Rhodes and I actually climbed off the back of the boat and got in the water, I felt so damn proud of myself (most of the people on the boat did too tbh lol) and I nearly drowned doughnut but he's fine!
So what have you always been afraid to do but never have or did and thought "why did I wait so long?!" |

Well done you! Glad you’re having a great holiday!
Anyway, me?
1. Meeting you (back in the day!)
2. Going to a sex / swing club - had a great time every visit but took me AGES to get the confidence to go
3. Jumping out of a plane at 14,000 ft. That was fun. |

OP well done.
I try to!
Got on a plane a went to China because i was given an opportunity, by myself.
Started pole dancing (god its hard) because i can.
Rode a motorbike for the first time and passed my test within a month because some said i wouldn't be able to do it.
Love the challenge of just doing something unexpected. |

Where the flamboyance of flamingos live |
I was afraid to leave my husband after 20 years together. I didn’t think I could manage on on my own as I’d never lived alone before. I finally did and 5 years on I’m living my life and am very happy. |

Gave a talk to 150 NHS psychiatrists and clinical psychologists about the positive impact of DBT on my life. It probably doesn't sound much as many people give public speeches all the time, but it was a huge deal to me as I have Autism and used to experience situational mutism. |

Being the DBT success story poster girl was very uplifting. I was quite euphoric afterwards! |

"Coming out in my early 20s (social attitudes were obvs v different back then)
I’m very scared of heights. So I did a walk over the top of O2 arena and looked across London.

I'm not a lover of heights so I totally understand and well done you for taking on that challenge (has it changed your outlook on heights now?) x |

It confirmed a view I already had that no one actually needs to walk over the O2 and ground level is just fine thank you very much |

I once travelled around Norway and camped out in a place just outside of Stavanger.
I had the privilege if meeting and hanging out with a bunch of base jumpers and got to see them in action first hand.
I've never been able to get the experience of watching them out of my head, it just seems like the ultimate rush.
I asked them how one might go about having a go and was advised that I should do at least 200 freefall jumps before considering base jumping.
One if the jumpers left me with this thought.
"It's a fine line between hanging onto the edge and letting go"

Bravo, public speaking is something I would struggle with, so really admire your bravery, well done you! |

I absolutely hate public speaking and was asked to be best man at a wedding. I always said I'd never do it. I couldn't say no and it played on my mind most days for a year. But, I did it and it went down well. The weight lifted off my shoulders as soon as it finished was incredible and I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. Never again though |

Probably not the most out there thing I've done but when I visited Amsterdam with an ex, she dared me to get up and volunteer to get on stage at the sex show which I definitely wouldn't have done otheriwse.
Twerking in front of a couple hundred pissed up stag and hen parties and eating a banana from a nice lady's naughty bits was... An experience |

Going back to college & uni, I did absolutely shite at school and always regretted not trying, I was more interested in everything but school when I was young, I went back did some diplomas and completed my degree when I was just over 30, I even got an award, I was so proud of myself after coming out of school with E's and F's not forgetting a couple of U's seems I'm not as stupid as I thought.
