Hi. I'm looking for a mens health supplement that increases mood and general health including anxiety and depression. I am on prescribed medication but I wonder if any guys can recommend a natural supplement that improves mood and anxiety and generally makes you feel better. My prescribed meds aren't really cutting it and Dr won't advise of and herbals that my improve my well-being.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Hi. Don’t mean to sound condescending but have you considered exercise or just generally leaving the house more and doing any kind of activity even if it’s just say walking ? This is what works for me. |

I am with this as well. Getting out and about really helps me. |

I’ll back that up, whenever I feel a bit of a mood dip, I go out walking , nothing fancy just round the local park |

Check out lions mane for anxiety and mood, I'll never not take it now and everyone I've reccomended it to said the same. I get mine from the cotswold mushrooms company as they aren't bulked full of cheap fillers. |

Vitamins aren't usually gender specific...
I'd recommend vitamin D, soft gels.
And maybe get your B12 checked.
It really depends if your deficient, you could ask GP if they'll do blood tests (not always easy) and then do some research on optimal levels (don't just think it's ok if it's in range)

I'm going to add the same. Fresh air, exercise (however much or little) is a key component in your well-being.
As others have said: even if it's "just" a walk, it, will get your brain to release some "happy" chemicals to begin your climb back.
Consistency is key. Better to do 5 small walks over 5 days than one bigger walk and then nothing!
You can do this! |

Supplements are an unregulated, commercial industry worth ££ billions.
Be wary and informed if you choose to take a supplement.
I'd suggest you do an exercise you enjoy to boost your mood.
Do you eat a diet that supports your needs too ? Good old fruit and veg are a cheap(ish) alternative to Supplements. |

Eat real foods, avoid ultra processed foods and sugar, little or no alcohol, 7-8 hours sleep, read inspirational books, and personal development, exercise daily, get out in nature, spend time with positive people and avoid toxic people and limit time spent on social media |

The reason your GP won't suggest herbal medicine is because some can interact with conventional medicines, St John's Wort is well known for interacting with anti epileptic medication as well as the contraceptive pills .. as others have rightly pointed out exercise is a wonderful boost for your mood, as well as avoiding alcohol etc.. perhaps your GP could also refer you for counselling.. CBT ( cognitive behavioural therapy) I found helpful for my depression and anxiety |

Have you had any blood tests taken? It's not always easy to distinguish depression from deficiencies in vitamins or hormones. As someone with a chronic depressive disorder as well as an underactive thyroid, I can honestly say getting my thyroid and vitamin D levels sorted has worked wonders. Not a cure all, but has helped. It took a while though.
But also reach out to people and talk, whether that's a professional, a friend or a willing random person. It helps a lot, even if nothing is ultimately 'resolved'.
Personally I wouldn't touch herbal supplements. That's a personal choice though. |

Aswell as Testosterone/hormone levels. More investigations are happening. As women go through the change so can men. |

"Gummies with CBD. Even supermarkets sell now"
You can also get cbd patches which work great for pain and feeling more calm I mostly use them for back pain but I'm super impressed with them after assuming just a gimmick initially. |

Yep. Has to be a gree/wooded area, though. It's good for the mood. Try and help yourself before looking for a pill |

Exercise, superfoods, good quality air and lots of it through things like Qigong.
Air quality can be so localised, even here in Dubai or Bangkok a few hundred meters can make such a massive difference |
