Mum having a bottle of iodine in the bathroom cabinet.

As a kid you cut or graze yourself mum dabbing on iodine and it stinging like a bastards son of a bitch.

I don't remember that stuff but I do remember the huge never ending bottle of milk of magnesia my Mum loved to chuck down us if we complained of a stomach ache I'm sure she had shared in the company the way she'd make us glue it

Only dettol and germolene after I had bathed my injury took out the grit and dettol stung like hell on fire.

I used to get calamine lotion inflicted on me for what my mum initially thought was eczema, but it turned out I was allergic to some type of fabric softener that was making me itch...

We didn't have iodine at home, but we did at primary school in the nurse's room, where you were packed off after a fall so you could be sent home with orange knees.

When you had the squits it was Kaolin and morphine, you had to give the bottle a good shake as it separated into white and brown when left in the cupboard
