I don't believe in transparent people floating about, no. But a supernatural presence, yeah. I think I've experienced too many things to not. Either that or I've got an over active imagination and watch too many horror films.

When my brother in law died ..that day .. I was sleeping on the sofa ..I woke up and he was standing in front of me .. he was only 18 .. I looked and he was there.. closed my eyes then opened them and he was gone ... was totally a good experience..now could have been a dream but gave me total comfort |

yes and got pictures to proove it ... well i say proove it the non belivers will say its this and that the belivers will belive it and thoes in the middle stay there ... so you'll never proove there is ghost's ... but u know people go chirch cus they belive lets all play make belive ha ha |

If you think the human mind which requires a brain, formed from experiences, chemicals and electricity, can live on, once the brain dies, then it could be a ghost/person's mind resurrected. I don't get it.
If ghosts are something other than former people, they don't sound like what we refer to as ghosts. |

That does not mean that there isn't an explanation. It means nothing more than 'we' haven't come up with one.

This is a subject, rather like UFOs. If you have seen one then you know you have seen one. You won't easily convince anyone else though. It is a bit of a curse."
You THINK you have seen one, or rather you haven't reasoned and rationally thought about it, you simply accepted the first explanation that came into your head.
Of course believers can't easily convince none believers as non believers are generally the ones that have done the thinking and the science behind such claims and have reasoned explanations as to why ghost stories are simply that - stories and no more.
It is not a 'curse' - frustrating maybe but you are not cursed that others don't believe. I know it's just a phrase but the very language speaks of the supernatural rather than what is real. |

Given that you know nothing about me, what I have done in the past then, as a "science based, rational human being",you seem to be very close minded, unable to explore alternative realms of possibility. With such a closed mind you would still be using smoke signals rather than the Internet.
I remember one scientist talking about a particular planet's rotation and he commented " this goes against all known laws of physics". Even scientists used a caveat to explain that we don't know everything.

My mate and I, one summer evening around 1985 spotted two in the sky. Trying to convince anyone that what we'd witnessed was kosher, was impossible. After we'd said we were on our way back from the pub. |

It seems you have taken things personally so I won't take things further other than to ask with a real interest that when you can prove that what you saw were ghosts i'd love to hear it.

I once saw two bright oval shapes in the sky, over the m62 on the way back from Manchester. It was eerie, they sort of hung in the sky, as if they were still and we were moving. If they weren't still they were moving very slowly.
They couldn't have been aircraft, or street lights ...... My first thoughts were UFO???
I searched and searched for reports of others seeing them and I did my best to find out what non UFO source could have made them. I did think maybe chinese lanterns but they were too big and too high ( though the way they moved in unison suggested they could very well be chinese lanterns )
I'd love to know even now what they were but being who I am , I can say no more than I once saw 2 large bright lights in the sky.
I certainly can't say they were UFO in the sense that people usually mean.

I don't believe because despite centuries of investigations no reliable evidence has ever been forthcoming and ghosthunting itself is very much a pseudoscience.
In addition to that my own tiny little mind holds it very improbable that human beings , after death, metamorph into a floaty sheet , with a face like this OR look exactly like they did when they died and turn up in their Sunday best despite being laid to rest in a gown from the morgue and spend eternity flitting in and out of Wilko at 3 a.m. every morning, waiting for people to see them then thinking ....shit seen i'd better poof off! |

The twice I've seen images or representations of people after they have died have been very soon after. Neither spoke.
I hesitate to call them ghosts because people assume I mean actual dead people come back to show themselves to me. At the time I saw them I didn't know they were dead.
I don't offer any explanation because I don't have one. Other people who weren't with me very frequently tell me what I experienced though  |
