"Gave us a good episode of Fawlty Towers "
Basil Fawlty:
Is there something wrong?
German Guest:
Will you stop talking about the war?
Basil Fawlty:
Me? You started it.
German Guest:
We did not!
Basil Fawlty:
Yes, you did. You invaded Poland.

X-rays and aspirin in medicine
The Rudolf Diesel engine and airbags in motoring
Crash in a 320d and the airbags fail, they can at least be thanked for Anadin if it's minor, or Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen's invention if major. |

Marx , Einstein, Schumaker , Beethoven.... on and on and on ....
A great work ethic and ingrained punctuality and having a distinct mark between times to be serious and times to laugh ....
' Germans tend to laugh and play when the work is done, not instead of doing the work.' |

"I had a lovely time on the German exchange in 1998 "
School exchange was great...
Happy to say we gave an opportunity to a young English lad to build a snowman in Easter which did not melt way within a few hours |

What a great tune I'd forgotten about. Same year as Two Tribes and I won't let the sun go down on me. 1984. A lot of concern about nuclear war in those songs. |

"Kant
Hegel
Nietzsche
Marx
Basically the basis of modern society. Not much.
Don't forget Heidegger
I was deliberately leaving him off the list given his Nazi credentials "
Quite right, don't mention the war, it's a categorical imperative. |

"They have enabled is to say wow he parked that big Mercedes in they small gap. Audi do that??
And the two cowboys in a bar joke wouldn't work without them either
What’s that joke?"
Two cowboys are sitting in a bar talking about their absent friend Tex who's gone away to buy a new motor.
Cowboy one says that Tex has forgotten his roots and sold out- he'll come back with an expensive flash car and never spends his miney on his friends.
Cowboy two says that Tex is still a humble good old boy and hasn't forgotten his roots. He'll come back with a down to earth car and buy his friends a drink.
As they are arguing the saloon doors burst open and Tex strides in and calls out "AUDI Y'ALL" |
