My dear teå-drinking renegades and cøffee vultures - can someone please recommend a decent establishment in Sheffield? Work beckons for a day or two and I seek solace and solitude where I can ínject some cåffeine in peace.

Pretentious proper coffee place is tamper, near hallam uni, 5 mins from train station.

Somewhere decent to eat mamas and Leonie's, the BBQ ribs are amazing...need a big appetite though, they also do a lunch menu.

Pretentious proper posh coffee place sounds a really bad idea….Nero loves some BBQ ribs & onion rings for lunch and a big mug of Nescafé instant coffee. Do they do Fosters on draft?

Thank you. I'll check it out and hope they accept 'walk ins'. It's a shame they start closing at 4.00pm.

Bad news for him...it's not American style ribs...hard to describe...it's an Italian restaurant.

the Graduate just round corner from it, bar often frequented by students..so I'd imagine they do a nice fosters...or even a carlsberg!

I'm genuinely looking for all things coffee related and not 'Ribs, Turf, Surf and Shack' !

Only those who are domiciled in Sheffield will be able to answer this.

Surely there must be a Wetherspoons in Sheffield?

They give you a mug at the bar & you can order any coffee you like from their automated Barista, as long as it’s cappuccino, latte or black coffee. They regularly fill up the powdered milk, and in nicer areas they even have sachets of brown sugar

Dozens of them, as well as a good smattering of micro-breweries, who offer similar and better coffee.

Tamper is fantastic but it's always rammed.

The Showroom nearby has a good cafe.

I lived there for 10 years. Best advice I could offer is, stay in your hotel and don’t move until you leave .

No but I haven’t lived there for some time so I wouldn’t know these days. I can tell you the places to stay away from though.

But while I do remember, if it’s still there, there is a tiny little Italian, can’t remember the name, it’s on Devonshire street across from the eldon court flats. Absolutely beautiful.
