Is it though? I think it's best to view it as casual interaction with no expectation of replies until it's something more. I do think it must be disheartening at times but focusing on other avenues/ways to form interactions is a good idea. |

I do, I visit clubs etc, I don't expect a reply from everyone but it is frustrating when the poster says drop us a message, or we always respond, or I want to chat etc and never replies.
Unless I'm actively chatting with someone I normally delete the message after I have sent it so I don't know if it's ever been read or not |
