Apparently, the UK gets more tornados a year than the US (per unit area of land)! There was a tornado in an area not so far away from us in December last year, and apparently there was one in the Midlands two weeks ago.

This was our first watch of the year, twenty years or so ,one hit downtown,I've seen three from afar, kinda scary, and cool at the same time

"Ah, take care over there Bill! X I'm getting up every 5 minutes to go look, it's pouring rain now and the sun is shining "
Well, you need the rain!
And if the sun is shining, does that mean it'll be over soon & you can come out of hiding? X |

We do, had one a couple years ago that thankfully didn’t touch down.
Though you guys had an absolute monster last night in Oklahoma, radar trucks sitting around it couldn’t measure the wind speed as they were all maxed out! |

"I loved the film Twister. Hollywood made it very exciting from something that’s obviously devastating and sometimes tragic.
Hope you stay safe op.
" thank you, when I was a kid went and saw the aftermath of one ,a 2x4 piece of wood went through a tree |

"I've been sucked into watching tornado and hurricane videos this week. I'm so blown away by the footage I've seen. A whirlwind of emotions for you I'm sure but seriously stay safe." I'm used to seeing dust devils, but seeing a piece of cloud forming a tail and dropping down ,well that's something else

In the states towns get blown away. Here it's the occasional chimney and the ever present wheelie bin.

I'm sure it looks spectacular, from a safe location. Be well my friend.

Yeah we get plenty in the uk. Often at a higher frequency per sq mile than the u.s!
I've personally witnessed two.
Obviously they're not as impressive and destructive at yours but quite a thing to see none the less! |
