Once upon a time, a young fresh undergraduate student had an idea for a thesis. They spoke to their lecturer, did some research on the net and found various sites, which they then joined and posted a comment or questionnaire on said sites and everyone then got their knickers in a twist.
No doubt the student then changed their thesis to something causing less hassle for themselves and now, years later, we all have little disclaimers under our profiles.
A one time request for information by an undergraduate sent the whole world of fab (and numerous other websites) into meltdown, with thoughts of pictures and profiles being published the world over.
It doesn't work like this. The student probably had their thesis read by ten people or so, then they got on with their life.
Couldn't we all do the same. Dump the Sydney university rubbish off your profile. By the very nature of the request in the first place you will not be targeted and your pics emblazoned over the Sydney University website.

It's popular misconception that in this context it refers to Sydney University the the educational establishment.
It actually refers to a former fab member and picture collector Mr. Sydney University.
Despite his creepiness I do miss Syd. *sigh* |

Gosh, I miss Sid too but don't tell him.
I think it was 1986 that he presented his thesis. I believe that it was not very well received (again, don't tell Sid), and as a result he went on to become a British Gas engineer.
Unfortunately when British Gas became Centrica, they let Sid go. Last time I saw him he was transitioning and going by the name of Syd.
If the Oracle was around (that famous JennieTV), I would ask her what she could find out from the other side. |

Last time I posted about Sydney Uni and how the legal warning was a must for all those who did not wish to feature in their research I got taken seriously by someone lacking in the humour department, and blocked.
Honestly, how people can not believe it is real when all you need to do is check out people's profile picks and see how many of the researchers there are on this site. They wear their uniforms with pride. |

Wasn’t ever bothered by the Sydney thing tbh
It’s the face pic requesters that piss me off
Unless your verified and meet my criteria it’s not happening
I don’t have face pics even in friends only pics and none on my profile so it should be obvious
Some of us have sensitive jobs |
