At the amount of food this country wastes each day.
Major supermarkets are the biggest villans too.
Tv prog the other nite showed just how much is put into land fill sites etc.
They also wanna go see the manic food buying in the supermarkets at the moment....
Is the world ending and no ones told me ?
I know i do waste some, threw a load of chinese out tonight but ordinarily i try not to waste anything.
reckon peeps have too much money meself. |

I agree Peaches we do waste far to much of everything.
I only cook what is going to be eaten and have very little waste but even that is still too much in my eyes.
I remember all the TV ads when I was a kid telling me that people were starving all over the world and I have always been aware of how much I buy - but Im lucky when I clean out and defrost my feezer I give all food not eaten to a pensioner downstairs from me. I dont throw out food she saves money and eats well for a while, with all the half packs of sausages and veg
As for the shops now - well all I can say is the world is NOT going to end cos the shops will be closed for 1 day!!!
You would think that the world was ending on Deccember 25th around here - bread is delivered to my local shops at around half 9 each morning and all year round you can buy it all day, second week of December walk into a shop at 10 am and the bread shelves are bare (not even the scabby cheap bread) I have seen people buy 7 loafs of bread a day WTF I go thru loads of bread in my house but still only need 7 a week not per day and when I know they live alone and are going away for Christmas do they really need to bulk buy at this time of year when they dont the rest of the year???
