Back to public duties.

What duties should he get back to and why?

Closing all his homes and giving us our taxes back for rent money. Allowing homeless people to rent free.

It does make me laugh that people seem to think the monarch has a cushy gig.

See how many coffers get full without them. See what our geopolitical state is without their brand of soft politics.

I think he should do as his mother would of and is, carry on with dignity and poise doing everything he can for the betterment of his kingdom.

Long may he reign over us

I had no time for Queen Elizabeth II of England. There was never a QE I of Scotland before so I, among many others, did not recognise her as the monarch. I admire her length of service but that is all.

KC III on the other hand is recognised as we had two KCs as monarchs before.

In his defence, what I will say is that he and Camilla (though she is no Queen of mine) does appear to be friendly. A good bus driver friend of mine bumped into C and C whilst walking the hills near Balmoral. They chatted for a while and his last words of Charles was "if I am ever on a bus in Dundee, I will look out for you" .

The Royals do not contribute one sot to the coffers, there is no evidence that tourism increases because of them in fact quite the opposite, they pay voluntary income tax but no one is allowed to know how much and are exempt from inheritance tax, which would have put 20 million plus in the coffers when Liz died.

They are also exempt from racism laws

Don’t believe the hype

Many people have cancer and you don't see a public outpouring and massive media coverage for those people, some if which are struggling to put food on the table or afford the bus fare to get to the hospital for the treatment they need. Royalty and monarchy are out dated concepts that belong to history. The Royal family choose to be the Royal family for one reason and one reason only, Privilege. And that's the truth of it.

He doesn't have a life as we know it, every second of his life has been in service to this country,he does nothing by choice everything is planned and organised,he can't just retire and put his feet up,do you think he sits in a tower counting gold coins like Scrooge McDuck?

His life and death are for the service of this country and it's people he's also a father and a grandfather his mother has recently died and he has cancer so what if he gets special treatment, all those knocking him would you turn it down if you had cancer saying "no treat Mrs Jones first"

Bullshit would you, you'd be first in line taking treatment.

But hey if this country sucks so much go try another country to live in.

What do you think the Royals “provide” to this country?

You just stay here enjoying the freedoms others provide so you can spout on like some kind of foul demagogue. That's the beauty of being a clingon to society.

The Royals do not contribute one sot to the coffers, there is no evidence that tourism increases because of them in fact quite the opposite, they pay voluntary income tax but no one is allowed to know how much and are exempt from inheritance tax, which would have put 20 million plus in the coffers when Liz died.

It’s crazy to me that people still worship the monarchy and the idea of a monarchy after all the evil that it has done to others. Nothing but pure evil was done in their name. And now they give out ’honours’ in the name of that empire. People talking a lot from their moral high tower, lol if I speak about some of the people in here… The hypocrisy.

I’m no more sad for Charles than I would be for anyone else that I don’t know or care about. Him and his family are not above criticism. What they represent is not above criticism. No matter how much it means to you, it is and has been a representation of the evil done onto others.

We don't need to replace the monarchy, we just need to place in to history were it belongs. There is no need for a figurative head of state, we have a prime minister for that. The role of a monarch is purely ceremonial, they have no power, no authority or anything else. They just live a privileged life based on nothing more than accident of birth.

As much or as little of the privileged womble life he always had I guess. Don’t really give a rats ass tbf what so called duties he does. I can’t think of anything less useless that comes at such an high price with throwing away an absorbent amount of tax payers money each year to them.

I’m in total agreement with you, the only thing he could do I could care a kipper about would be for him to give the peoples hard earned money taken in tax back after wrongfully used so he could live a lifetime of privilege. Don't misunderstand me, I completely understand the need for people to require a god figure, after all the concept dates back many thousands of years. But, and it's a big arse but, we live in a modern age, an age where we understand quite a bit, not all, about how we actually got here, evolution and diversity of life. God's ,in the spiritual form, have nothing to do with it, it's false nonsense that has its history rooted in control and wealth

You will have a consultant oncologist, a consultant surgeon, a consultant radiologist, consultants in radiotherapy and nuclear medicine see you within a few weeks, it takes time, even for a King, to prepare a care plan you don't just inject chemo, blast with radiotherapy and open up bodies looking for tumours.

I agree, the bed, the meals etc for him will be better but if you think the consultants he sees are different to the ones you will see you are mistaken.

The level of expertise for cancer treatment in UK is world beating.

Could cancer treatment be better, of course it could but I have to live and work in the real world not the FAB fantasy arena.

Like I said, do a bit of volunteering in a cancer unit, let me know your thoughts after a few months.

I'm a medic who works over 3 cancer units, have just ended surgery, chemo and radiotherapy for head and neck cancer and had 30 years experience treating cancer patients.

If you are concerned, rather than knock it, try a bit of volunteering in your local cancer unit and chat to the patients and medics and get a more rounded view, you will be terrified and fulfilled in equal measures.

You may not like Royalty but he would listened to the same chat I have to give, something like "We had the results from the biopsy and I'm sorry to say it is cancer"

From a King down, the fear in their eyes is the same.

I see it on a daily basis and have been on the receiving end.

Have a bit of compassion and thought.

I'm pretty sure that most of us don't have the best oncologists in the country on hand 24/7 and the prime minister on speed dial. Not to mention getting flown from place to country elsates and back again for our appointments in a state funded helicopter or driven to the hospital in bomb proof luxury. Now, I don't mind people having the finest things in life, I just expect then to work for it and not get it through some ridiculous right of birth idea that should be relegated to the history books.

I won't hold my breath. "

It would be a lot better if we spent the money wasted on the royals on cancer research!

"It does make me laugh that people seem to think the monarch has a cushy gig.

See how many coffers get full without them. See what our geopolitical state is without their brand of soft politics.

I think he should do as his mother would of and is, carry on with dignity and poise doing everything he can for the betterment of his kingdom.

Long may he reign over us

The Royals do not contribute one sot to the coffers, there is no evidence that tourism increases because of them in fact quite the opposite, they pay voluntary income tax but no one is allowed to know how much and are exempt from inheritance tax, which would have put 20 million plus in the coffers when Liz died.

They are also exempt from racism laws

Don’t believe the hype

Probably best check your facts first

Which ones?"

This

Please don't start with the god nonsense.

He is the head of the church of child abuse (sorry England)

Don't misunderstand me, I completely understand the need for people to require a god figure, after all the concept dates back many thousands of years. But, and it's a big arse but, we live in a modern age, an age where we understand quite a bit, not all, about how we actually got here, evolution and diversity of life. God's ,in the spiritual form, have nothing to do with it, it's false nonsense that has its history rooted in control and wealth"

But there have been over a thousand gods through history surely one of them is the real one?

The role of the monarchy in our constitution is woefully misunderstood. Remember that politicians, the military, police, judges, swear allegiance to the country through the King. That is a crucial balance in the distribution of power and keeps us safe from tyrants.

"Think I've blocked most of the haters. If I've missed a vile hater please block me.

Wow, this community, sad vile and cruel. "

To be fair, most people you meet in real life from FAB are lovely.

Open minded, engaging and at a club, party, holiday for the same reasons.

The forums are a different story.

It attracts from a wide church. From interesting, funny, engaging to vile, nasty, sad folks who operate on the fringes of society.

You get a few at clubs and parties but after a minute or so you tend to say " nice meeting you and move on" and wait for their comments saying the place was full of cliques.

Not cliques, just nobody wants to be around them.

If its real meets, then some sites that have no forums etc are better as it holds no interest to the nasty, sad people.

"In exchange for this public support, The King surrenders the revenue from The Crown Estate to the government. Over the last ten years, the revenue paid to the Exchequer is £3 billion and is used for public spending."

Not a big fan of the Royal Family but to go back to the OP's question.

The King in my opinion should modernize & I agree that we the tax paying pubic should no longer be supporting the Royal family with our tax.

They have more than enough money from their estates etc & should self fund

I think that would be a very important thing to do & history would show Charles as a good Man.

The money we don't spend could be used to reduce the deficit or put into housing projects etc
