I never quite understood the concept..
hairy creatures living in an isolated spot on a heathland common Drowning in litter
Still I bet with the local council cutbacks, they were pleased - at least the wombles provided a service to the community for free |

I won giant womble when I was 1.
My parents entered me in a baby competition & I ended up winning. About a thousand kiddos entered.
My thick afro helped I think.
It was the womble with the hat & scarf, whichever character that is.
