Have you ever had sex when you look back at it you think I shouldn’t have bothered? 
The only reason I thought of this is because isn’t sex enjoyable? What is it ALWAYS enjoyable?

Only twice. I learnt a lesson both times though. Could have done without those experiences but I try and put a positive spin on it.
One there was a boundary (that hadn't been tested until then) that an ex lied to me about - the sex was so dull and lacklustre as a result. He came. Me, the woman who can come from giving oral or grinding on a man's thighs? Zero orgasms, zero enjoyment in it. Never, ever again.

I'm very lucky to orgasm really easily, so even bad sex is fairly good.
Sometimes I do look at all the effort (the grooming and extensive hair removal, the attempting to flirt, the sheer effort of trying to appear normal in order to attract someone!) and think "my vibrator would get me to the same place with none of this bullshit".

I can't recall any "shouldn't have bothered" encounters, but there's been times where I wasn't on top of my game and probably didn't do the moment justice.

There have been times when it’s been lacklustre, when the other person and I weren’t in sync and it was ‘meh’.
