Haven’t actually seen anything myself but have felt and heard and had strange going’s on in a house we lived in for a short while

I'm somewhat open-minded but I'm not aware of any valid scientific research evidence that supports their existence. So I'm inclined to assume that they don't exist. That's based on the assumption that ghosts would be people who have died. I also see human identity to be supported by the physical human brain and body - so without a brain, I don't see how a personality can continue.

I didn’t believe……. Until I see one! Black figure in our previous home. Four of us see it, it actually ran up the stairs after appearing in the doorway. Wasn’t long before we moved out lol.

If I was alone i probably would have dismissed it, but when others see and heard the same thing then it couldn’t be dismissed.

i think i am open minded -

I was working in China and i had what I can only describe one night as a vivid dream. I looked at the side of my bed (i think I was still asleep) and there was my grandmother. She said that it was time to go now and that it would be ok, don't go home. So I said ok to her and to be safe on the rest of her journey. Now any normal night i think i would have woken and not thought about it. At around 6am my room phone rang. It was my family in the UK, my grandmother had died in the night!

Dunno if I belive, I wouldn't say they don't exist because other people believe they do and it's not my place to discount their belief or experiences

Closest I came to ghostly goings on was the week before my Mum died, I went to see her and she was white as she sheet and quiet, told me 'today will be our last day together, I'm not going to exist this time next week' I asked her why and she said that my Dad and my Stepdad had visited her, told her that everything was ready for her and everyone was expecting her for her party...She died literally a week later...

I can't explain what she saw, I doubt she could but I couldn't have told her it wasn't real the state she was in

"So who believes and have you had anything ghostlike you cannot explain ?"

I a house I lived in I three times saw a little boy who can only have been a ghost. When I moved my son kept seeing an old woman in the bathroom so we called in a spiritualist to do a clearance... She said an old woman had died in that house in the bathroom (I hadn't told her what it was that was scaring my son) and that there was the spirit of a small boy that had attached himself to me and moved from my previous home...

My father needed to go to the doctors. He couldnt drive but i decided to take him in his car. Along the way i stoped outside the farm that he worked at for almost 40 years. When we got home he said thankyou for that. Next day he passed away. No why did i decide to take his car. Why stop outside the farm that he worked. Somethings just cant be explained.

Yes had a lot of experiences with ghosts since a kid, the psychic ability runs through nearly all my family. We have seen the same thing at times. My late grandmothers house, especially one room, was really haunted. Myself and multiple people had all sorts happen.

My sister called a psychic out to cleanse my grabs house, but when he pulled up outside and looked up at the bedroom window he quickly wound his window back up and sped off. Yes it was like that, some of you would have shit yourself in there on your own

I have seen and experienced the good, bad and everything inbetwen. I can understand why people are sceptical if you never experience things. But it is there on multiple spiritual planes and dimensions.

As for life after death, many think that is the end. As a spiritual person I certainly believe it is not. I say to those with scientific minds who do not agree, that it is a scientific fact that energy cannot be destroyed, it is converted into another form at least. We are energy and once our mortal body dies that energy lives on

Also, when my matenal grandmother died, my mum got a call from the hospital to tell her to get down there as her mum was dying.

My dad took her and then came home.

He later said that, at some point during the day he swears he heard someone call his name from the living room - and it had sounded like my nan - but when he went in there was nobody there.

In the few months after she died, weird things kept happening around my mum. The security panel on the radio in her car flew off and the oven packed up.

And, when she sold her mums home, the people who bought it had a surname that was essentially my nans first name, middle initial and surname combined and in that order.

Ghosts ? No, definitely not.

.

However there is something not quite right with our understanding.

.

I believe we are looking at "ghosts" through a medieval lens, where the irrationality and superstition of that period prevailed. Because that was all they had then, lacking any evidence. Plus religion putting a slant on everything.

.

We are still looking through that lens, even today, and that is distorting and hampering our understanding.

.

I have been talking to an individual, who has 2 Masters degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Quantum Physics.

.

His thesis is around his belief that what we call "ghosts/angels/demons" is kind of correct, in terms of their existence, but not in terms of what they are. He has "measured" and "identified" these "super-state entities" for want of a better word. He is adamant they exist but he has no idea what they are.

.

He has had to drop his initial thesis, at least publicly, due to the very real risk of death threats from his native country and religion. However he is continuing his research "in private".

.

I have said I'd like to see this research and investigate this more deeply.

So many experiences of all sorts.

The most beautiful and profound was waking up early hours as a 16 year old.. I felt and sensed my grandma's hand in mine. I went back to sleep.

A few hours later, my parents arrived home to tell me she had passed away. They had a phone call in the night and were asked to go to the hospital. I had no idea until they told me.

I've had other experiences but some not so nice

couple, us we him her.

The power of imagination and suggestion will make the human mind believe anything.

Example: many people genuinely believe the earth is flat.

Doesn't make it true.

If someone genuinely believes they have seen a ghost they may have thought they did, doesn't make it true.

A mixture of magical thinking and a trick of brain chemistry is all it is I'm afraid. Energy is transferred at the point if death, all that's left are the memories others have in their consciousness!

Hi All,

I’m not a believer, I think a lot of people who maybe lose someone manifest that they come back and show a sign or something that they’re loved one is looking over them, and it makes it real if something happens like something falls of the wall or something similar,

For me I’m just not a believer of it, and haven’t ever seen anything that has changed my mind, there’s nothing absolute concrete caught on camera or similar that has made me think ohh ok maybe it is, I totally understand why people want to believe and make it real I do get that, but just a no for me,

It’s always stories of people sleeping and waking up and seeing someone, or something moving in a room, or a shadow figure, all normal things in my eyes.

Would love to believe that my passed loved ones are around me and beside me but I just really don’t believe it and haven’t had or seen anything to change my mind, just my own opinion tho,

We bought a house, a couple had lived there since the war and died . One night not long after we moved there I had a bathroom visit and as I walked back to the bedroom I saw a woman walking along the landing. I went back to bed and told Buffy what I'd seen a few days later I was talking to a neighbour and described the woman he went white and told me that was the old lady that had lived there. When I saw her for some reason I was not worried she seemed so gentle and un-scary, I never saw her again.

With the incredibly amazing capabilities of the human brain, it's more than likely that most things like this are probably just a tiny fraction of its capacity to create perceptions of what seem psychic, ghostly etc, especially when we're in a state of mind that's open and transitioning towards another, such as sleep.

Yes.

Stayed at a friend's house after a few beers.

His house is always cold even with the heating on.

While sleeping I felt something yank my duvet off me really hard and woke me up, there was no one else in the room.

Didn't get to sleep after that.

Later on I found out the previous owner had died in the house before he had it.

I moved into a flat when I was younger and some nights I'd hear the TV get switched on above me when Coronation Street started. The TV turned off when the program finished.

Weeks later I found out there was nobody above me... The old lady there had been dead for over a month.

It was her grandaughter who told me, who was only now clearing out her grans flat and moving in.

When an (old) friend (in her 90's) of mine was young; her parents and her moved to a new home in the country.

My friend always wondered why her parents had boarded up one of the rooms.

"Why are we not using that room"? - My friend would ask.

And each time her parents would give a different answer/excuse, which made my friend very curious...

One night, her parents left for the night to attend a party and my friend finally had enough time to take off some of the boards and creep inside the room.

Crawling through a gap; my friend stood in the room and thought: 'There is nothing wrong with this room... Why are my parents not using it?' - But she felt like she was standing in a freezer as the room was so cold.

Then she became aware that someone was behind her... She turned around and an old man was standing against a wall. He wasn't looking at her or anything - just standing there minding his own business... But (of course) my friend ran out the hole and right out of the house and sat outside all night - waiting for her parents to return.

Driving down a small lane in the lake district late at night, pitch black , few miles from the nearest house. As we turned a corner there was a old lady stood at the side of the road. dressed in old clothes from years back

My gf screamed and i stopped a few yards past the lady.

I reversed back to where she had been so i could shine my headlights but there was no one there

When I lived in Wales one Sunday morning in church the vicar said…

Morning congregation, theres been a lot of talk in the village about ghosts…

Now can anyone here say they’ve ever seen a ghosts? No!

And can anyone here say they’ve ever spoken to a ghost? No!

And can anyone here say they’ve ever made love to a ghost? A hand goes up. Vicar says.. Thomas jones, you mean to tell me you’ve made love to a ghost?
