A doctor from Birmingham, most famous as home of the Peaky Blinders, has got in a spot of bother after being arrested at a Stop the Oil event. Now the GP, short for General Practitioner, faces the sack and being struck off. Now Tom does not care what hobbies a GP has on her day off and just wants an appointment with a qualified doctor. Now living in Birmingham there may be one less doctor. What's going on here guys. It's all over the news |

"It was a she and she went on the oil protest and got arrested for a breach of a civil injunction "
Maybe there was a clause in her contract that says she can be terminated if she is arrested/charged with a crime |

She was arrested for protesting against new oil developments thanks to Draconian laws brought in to prevent disruptive protest. She was protesting because she feels that climate change will have a deleterious effect on our collective health and wellbeing, and as a Dr has taken an oath to help protect that.
She kept the GMC and employer informed of her arrests and is now being investigated by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, which will determine whether she is fit to practice medicine.
She should be condoned by the Tribunal, not condemned. It is disgraceful that these laws are used to prevent criticism of companies that profit from climate change. |
