It is a well known side effect that they can cause digestive problems
Go back to see her surgeries diabetic nurse and ask her/him to offer an alternative.
She is taking them after food isn't she ?
Also did she build up to them ? Ie take one for a while, then two for a while etc ?
Apparently going straight on ur prescribed dose can also causes tummy problems |

Yes she must take with food and build up the dose..
If it doesn't work go back to the doctor as there is another pill that is kinda to the tummy, begins with G but can't remember what its called |

glucophage....its the prolonged release version |
