Well, you just have .

For your "friend".

So - to show I've invested some effort in my answer- "Dark Ink".

Now that's done. There's no rule. Nero will post one way, MobileBottom another, Pickle another, Meli and Coyote another...and so on with so many others.

And they all have good threads.

What they all share, though, is that their threads reflect most of who they are (in online FAB personality...we all have multiple masks we wear in daily life).

So try a couple, expect nothing, and if you get something - well done.

And it can be good one day and crap another - and that means nothing of any real substance.

It's only a thread, in an online forum.

Some will warm to you, others dislike then warm, others permanently dislike, some be passive aggressive, some appear friendly whilst being passive aggressive...just like normal life, but more concentrated.

Have a bash.

Like you just have

Cut the end off the thread so it goes through the eye of the needle

Just throw it out there and let it grow.

Exactly.

Start it. There's at least one idiotic male who'll post a few comments to give it life (that's me today. Most days tbf). Then the nice people who you actually want start turning up, you may get to flirt with a few of them, and in no time at all you'll be Thready McThreadmeister .

Also - when there's a particularly fast-moving and popular thread happening elsewhere, expect yours to go pretty quiet (as there is now).

Say something disparaging about women and double down on it when people get angry with you.

That's a cynical attitude, what do you think I am, a tory?
