In my teens I hated it all
In my twenties I thought I could change it all
In my thirties I accepted I couldn’t
In my forties I’m now just thinking f&ck it let’s enjoy the ride |

Nope. It will be what it will be. If a ruddy great T-Rex couldn’t stop progress then a horny bellend like me has no hope. I don’t like to think of people suffering, but there’s also something beautiful and magnificent about how the world is its own vast constant thing and the humans and other life on it are just temporary, sometimes brilliant, insignificances |

"Been seeing at on the news tonight... quite worrying
Aaaaand that’s why I didn’t watch the news.
Me neither far too depressing "
One of thereasons why we were happy as kids. Kids don’t watch the news, and they couldn’t give a shit, and they are happier. |

"Anyone else get those times when you feel nervous bout the state and worry of the world at the moment?"
Stop watching / reading news.
Try not to concern yourself with things outside your control by instead focussing harder on the things you can control and change.
It’s common that people who wake up look out the window and get depressed about weather or news are avoiding the real things they should be addressing |

I watch the news, I like to know what's going on in the world.
It doesn't depress me though, the world has always being in conflict somewhere just sometimes it's more publicised.
I concern myself more with things in my own life I have control over.
But would it be such a bad thing if humanity was wiped out? Not really.

As someone who grew up in a war zone I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.
That isn't a flippant response either.
For too many years I was living the news so I gave up watching TV news a very long time ago. I don't need to carry anyone else's load.
I just concern myself with putting food on the table and whatever will be will be. |

Nah, everything comes to an end at some point regardless of if we want it to. Better to enjoy while here then spend it worrying about something none of us can control. Same with life really |

I worry for my children and grandchildren, my wife our cat's and granddoggy.
I have a few regrets in life one of my biggest was not joining the royal marines when I was younger and choosing a different career.
It's true one person can't make a difference but when that one person is highly trained and put together with others we can make a difference.
As for the threat of nuclear annihilation? Well I grew up in the early 80's when it felt like it would happen daily so this feeling of dread is nothing new.
But burying ones head in the sand is not the way to go.
Being aware and prepared can't be a bad idea? |

Best thing I ever did was stop watching the news and reading the papers, they only sell bad news and bullshit.
If you look at the real measurements for general progress in the world, violent crime, murder, medical progress, starvation etc things improve every year.
Love your own life deal with the things you can and FUCK the rest |

I don't remember a time when there wasn't conflict somewhere in the world.
It's been a long time since any was on our doorstep with any frequency though. I remember bombs in London, seeing the aftermath and wondering when the next would be.
When it's further from home I guess people think differently. And the superpowers of the USA and Russia have been involved in instigating war so often over the last few decades that I don't see any changes now.
Panic stories sell news, products and advertising. They always have.
There's always a motive when a story tells us the end is nigh. Someone wants to make money from it.
I'm more concerned these days about local issues, economic inequality, social exclusion and things that I can influence and help with. Not whether the world will end tomorrow because I have zero ability to change that. |
