Just a rant to get it off my chest. Not looking for comments but feel free - no doubt I will get some.
Have deleted old and new friends off my list. Am sick to death of them being on there and not speaking. Admittedly, I dont speak all the time but have done and either waited days for a reply even though ive seen them online. Am done with them. |

Havent many on mine, and if we done speak withing two weeks, especially if we've both been online, then i hit the delete button... I usually find it takes them a week or so to notice!
I have noticed that fab has blocked me speaking to ppl on my friends, its happened a few times, been reported by both but nothing has been sorted as of yet  |

Ive found sometimes that its only taken them couple of days and they have asked why so i told them, no contact is the reason, so then they come back on talk for a bit then go non-existent again, so then I block them. hope site sorts you out |

i agree totaly..i find many on here just add peeps as friends even if dont chat..i dont see point.
some peeps been here ages and not verified yet have long friend list.
i only have friends of those i see regular..if i dont i delete as no point having them on list if not gonna see them..after all isnt a friend someone u see wether its all time or every now and again |

It could be that they were done with you as soon as they had seen your friends pics 
Don't wish to sound awful but that's the sole intent of many on here for adding a friend.
I have been here on and off for 18 months and atm have 7 people on my friends list.
Those people would not be bothered if I contacted them for a month and likewise that would work the other way.
We could just pick up where we left off.
People do have a life and priorities outside of this site and others do not demand constant attention from their friends or immediate responses to every mail they are sent.
The lesson here is choose your friends wisely and step off the gas a bit.

I exchange msgs and pics before adding or asking to add as friend if I like their message and look of them (bit shallow I know), if they want to meet then its a bonus |

Who gives a running sliding flying one?
I accept friends for the same reason they do me, so we can see each others private pics after chatting. However I do have those I am friends with having met or wish to meet.
BUT I really can't believe so many take it so seriously for so little. |

I do have friends on my list that I've met and some I haven't met but would like to.
I don't expect them to message me to chat regularly. In fact I'm not one for chatting on a one to one basis via private pms so I don't do this regularly, I log on mainly to come on forums. Similarly I don't message others on a regular basis either.

It's your friends list and up to you what you do with it, but maybe if you'd chosen your 'friends' with a little more care you wouldn't have to delete them. Do you do that in real life if someone doesn't answer a text message straight away? It comes across as a tad needy tbh. |

I am sorry but this OP made me chuckle  do you speak to all your "normal" friends once every week? Do you contact everyone on your friends list regularly? Do you answer all your messages promptly?
If the answer is yes to all, then that's good!!
I have real friends who I don't talk to for months! But that doesn't make me or them say " your not my friend anymore"
We just pick up where we left off!
Communication is a two way thing, just because they haven't replied to your messages straight away doesn't make them non friend material!

Im glad I made you laugh. Yes I do speak to my real friends regularly and they to me. I like to chat and the guys on my list know that, but if they are online does it hurt for them to say hi, I do it and get ignored. |

I thought I had been more selective but there you go. They were just want to perv pics, which I accept is what happens, I do it too, whether to them or new ones, if I like the look of someone new I will say hi and will keep chatting if they want to. |

Have to say it seems rather dramatic if being honest. Friends as i see it whether here or real life are forever unless something major happens.

Keep saying this about 'Friends' on here. A lot of people think the way I use my friends list is a tad ruthless, but it certainly stops a lot of what the OP is on about.
Like everything else on Fabs, it is just a site tool to use in a way which works for the user - and no more. And you're right - this is NOT 'Bookface'!! |

Looking from the other angle.
I am not a prolific messenger and friends do take the piss from time to time that they always have to message me first. However, I don't think I have any friends that are that needy that they require constant communication to maintain our friendship. |

At most we had around 8. Now we have 2. We regard one as a friend and one we all hope becomes one. We don't see any point in adding anyone until friendship is established and trust. We still get friends requests and all we do now is accept them when they're offline and bat out between us if we'd look to meet. It's your list, your choice x |

Your opening post does read as if you feel guys should respond to you straight away because you've bestowed the honour of befriending them. And if they don't that's it, they are off, never to be allowed that privilege again (but you'll keep checking the looked at me to see if they've noticed that you've punished them by removing them).
Like I said previously, I don't demand how often friends message me. if there's one thing that does get my goat though is people asking me why I haven't responded when I've been online for such and such length of time. I don't do requests, ill message when I want to and ill read messages when I want. I am not beholden to anyone on here and if people question me about the use of my own time, then I don't take very positively to that. |

I dont message them asking to speak and dont look at them once I have deleted them to see if they are checking for whatever. I dont question people either. They dont want to reply to my messages then I delete them. Its all I was trying to say. But its now turned into a pisstake for some people. |
