fresh cod roe?

you steam it to cook it then can eithr eat it in slices with lts of butter and vinegar (this is how i like it)

or you can slice it, batter it and deep fry it (you can sometimes get it like that in fish & chip shops)

it has an odd texture that some might not like as essentially its thousands of eggs so a bit grainy.

I dont do a roast just for myself. Went out for a lovely carvery last sunday and thats what i/we tend to do. I would do one if someone was here. I do like cooking them, but i find it pointless just for me

I seldom have a roast when I am on my own.

Probably making some spicy and aromatic cous cous with Chorizo for dinner later.

Pizza, quiche, sausage rolls, nachos, buffalo chicken thighs and drumsticks, baguettes, pate, cheeses crisps and salad ...... then cake, lots of chocolate cake. Yes, my son is having a birthday tea with some friends so no roast for us.

They have been here since 10am so I'm currently hoping it will soon be 7pm and time for me to have a glass of wine.

We had pork steaks topped with onion and apple chunks cooked in a dressing of ground mustard, ground clove and brown sugar mixed with water, and to accompany that we had roasted pots, stuffing, roasted carrots and parsnips in olive oil with oregano garnish, and for veg we had peas, greens, broccoli and cauliflower. And the mandatory Yorkie puds.
