After watching martin lewis,s money programme the other night . I decided to go check out my banding for council tax and was amazed at the information they had and also discovered that im over banded
So have written to the office local to me and they are sorting it and said it sounds like im correct.
Just goes to show we need to check these things out.
The original banding was done by guys sat in a car going round the streets. |

You can raise an objection to the band you have been put in but you are not guaranteed to have it changed. I tried with mine and no joy yet my sister had no problems. Good luck though if you don't try you don't get. |

I know you can ask for a review with no guarantee and even risk an increase. It looks form the OP's post like she could see they were overbanded so I am curious if it is easy to see from a quick look at records and if so, how? |

Its crazy in Scotland. Our house is banded at 80 to 100000 quid. its a 4 bed bungalow worth £250000, thats not boasting that is fact. However we pay £230 a month council tax.... should i ask what an ex council house is worth? or what do people pay owning properly massive houses?
seems the valuation is wrong but the charge is excessive. |
