Somewhere

What an absolute helmet this guy is.

I don't disagree with his message as a whole which is eat more real food and less processed food.

The issue is he's trying to educate people but so much of what he says is incorrect and full of mis-information.

If you challenge him on it he tells you to research it yourself. He never provides any evidence to back up his claims when the onus is on him as the one making the claims.

Some of the bullshit he comes out with.

It's not calories that make you fat it's what you eat, specifically carbs make you fat not calories.

Your body doesn't recognize synthetic vitamins and minerals.

Your body only converts 14% of whey protein to muscle tissue but 48% of eggs.

You can build loads of extra muscle in 2 weeks by swapping whey for eggs.

You should only eat certain berries as most fruit is bad for you.

Your body treats a single serving of coco pops as if the whole thing were a bowl of sugar, he came out with this one the other day.

I'm expecting a pretty divided opinion on this, he seems to have a cult following based off him being a former Mr Olympia competitor therfore he must know what he's talking about. Accepting an argument from authority is just stupid.

Never heard of him. I'm assuming that he doesn't have lots of published research evidence, so may just be a publicity hungry type

I don't know who he is but as soon as someone asks me to believe what they're saying and when I question them tells me to do my own research I check out.

Being a competitive body builder used to require a good knowledge of how different food effect the body. I agree with a lot of what he says about processed food and additives. He is loud and his persona may not appeal to many. I tend to agree with lots of what he has to say.

Being a competitive body builder means he took shitloads of drugs so not really a role model?

Do you have any evidence to support, for example, assertions that X percent of protein is absorbed from whey, vs Y percent from eggs, for example? If not, you "agreeing" is meaningless.

If people are going to make allegedly factual statements about nutrition (or anything scientific), they need to be able to back it up with well evidenced facts. Saying "do your own research" is a giant red flag.

couple, us we him her.

Being a body builder on steroids is impossible to advise regular folks on diet most are bloated up on fluid and able to consume 10000 calories a day.

I'll take my nutritional advice from a regular person who's been overweight and managed to shift it through a normal diet, not some celebrity with a professional trainer and nutritionalist.

Same here,

‘Can you explain this to me please? I’m interested’

Hmm now what do I say as I’m making it up.

‘Do your own research, the answers are all out there’
