It's just a filter. Albeit a permanent one.
It's occasionally used when people browse profiles and they see someone they know will never be what they're looking for. By blocking those people they won't ever show in searches and it actually benefits the other party too, as they can move on and concentrate their attention on someone who may be better suited.
People block for all manner of reasons OP. It's rarely personal.

Everyone blocks for different reasons including as mentioned already if you are not what they are looking for. For me usually fake profiles, people who overstep the mark, have extreme views of any kind or are nasty and abusive to others. |

"Seems really easy to get blocked these days.. the slightest wrong words and "boom".. ya blocked.
Are people so wound up to block so easy these days?"
Did you accidentally send an unsolicited wink? Winkers, especially people who wink in public are often hated here.
Them, and grammar Nazis. Especially those who are into mansplaining things.
Maybe you used the word female instead of woman or women, as that’s an instant red flag for many. |

I generally just block if someone creeps me out.
I don't have time to block everyone I think is a bit of a dick.
I get blocked all the time and it does amuse me. |

The tools for tailoring your experience here aren't great, and that leaves only blocking really.
That said, I think people have gotten incredibly used to being able to overstay their welcome - and when people have the ability to just make someone else "disappear" with a click it's very jarring to be on the receiving end of it, because in real-life they would have to "negotiate" their way back out of a situation they no longer want to be in.
So, think of it as the shitty lining of a silver cloud. |

Back in the day, I'd only block the irredeemable.
Having been a single woman on fab for some time now, my block list grows by double figures every single week, just because I need to filter down the quantity. |

If you are getting blocked all the time then I would take that as a bit of a warning signal. People do block but it is not that common - at least in my experience. If you find it “easy” to get blocked then I think you are doing something wrong. |

I appreciate it's frustrating op, but there's always a reason someone blocks.
You may not be compatible with what they're looking for, they not have liked something you said.or they were just that way out.
I block for many reasons, people nagging when they've been told no, I don't like their profile or pics. They creeped me out or turned pushy when we've chatted.
Try not to dwell on it op, unless it's happening a lot to you. |

i actually had to go check on my block list and in my time here in like 13 yrs i only have 1 on my block list in which this only happened end of last year...i have never once had to block anyone, only because everyone i talk to have been wonderful and i stay in contact. (or try to hehe) but in all honesty, i find that even if someone is not my type, i dont find a reason to block unless there is a need to. |

You can get blocked for not responding to a message, for fabbing a picture, for havibg 420 on yoir profile, or for being too close to where they live.
Block them back in case they change their mind, then move on |
