When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you like your body 'badges' from the years of use/misuse, or do you want to eradicate them?

Personally, I'm not vain, so my blemishes are me, and I live with them, and hope people accept them. How about you?

I have loads of scars.

Lots of bumps.

Many wrinkles.

Stretch marks.

I’m proud of them all.

I don't think not liking them makes you vain.

I rarely look at myself in the mirror as I tend not to like what I see.

I can't change them, and I wouldn't want to. They are part of me for a reason. Especially my c-section scar, that allowed my wonderful, talented, neurodivergent child to be brought into my world.

I dont take too much notice of things like that when i look in the mirror. Usually just use it for shaving, brushing hair etc..

I’ve been body shamed since I was a child and I have big issue with body image. It’s interesting I’ve come to understand this is my body and I need to work with what I got and I’m kinda okay with that but the only thing I can’t accept is my face. I think it’s pretty self explanatory why I don’t have any issues with my headless body shots on here

I avoid looking in the mirror, I hate the reflection staring back at me.

The only time I do it is first thing in the morning, when getting out of bed naked. I look in the long mirror on our wardrobes, turning this way and that, throwing my shoulders back and my boots up.

I hope the clock has gone back 20 years. No amount of posing can stop everything flopping back into place when I relax and breathe again.

I hate that Issac Newton and his fucking apple....

I'm not a fan of looking at my body in a mirror.

Since menopause, my skin has changed drastically - texture/tone - and I keep getting weird acne-like eruptions on my body (still waiting on Dermatology appointment).

It took a good few years for me to accept that I'm now fat (used to be pretty slim til i hit my 30's) and now I have this to deal with. Some days I'm pretty disgusted when I look at it.

But I'm working on it

You look lovely baby, killer curves, fantastic boobs and love the colour of your hair.

Think it's definitely a female thing, criticising ourselves like thid.

Guys seem to have it easier. They just age better, wrinkles to them just make them look rugged, grey hair is distinguished and who doesn't love a 'dad bod". It's not fucking fair,

I’m a woman who has lived and so my body has lumps, bumps, stretch marks and scars. I even love my freckles just as well.

Only thing I’m not keen on is my wobbly belly but I still posted a full frontal pic last week for everyone to see and to my surprise other folk liked it.

So whatever we might not be keen on there might be someone out there that loves it .

I kinda made a thread in a similar vein. Didn't see this one first!

I struggle with how my body looks now. It's not scars per-se, I don't mind the scars from operations etc. I do mind the weird discolouration of my bad leg and foot. I do mind how my stretch marks look, especially when seated. I do mind how saggy my boobs are.

I'm working on it (liking it more - those features aren't going to change).

What I do love is how my arse cheeks clap as I run- it's like having my own little fan club

What I do love is how my belly doubles up as a comfy pillow for when you get worn out fucking me

What I do love is how my thighs rub together and keep me warm on a cold day

Fuck it! We're all beautifully unique, all wonderfully special- let no one dull your sparkle

For me it depends.

When I reach the age where I'll start getting stretch marks or blemishes I think I'll really dislike them because they just don't look good.

However, actual scars that one would get from surgeries or catestrophic injuries...YES FUCKING PLEASE JUST GIMME, I wish I could have scars like that! My body confidence would fly through the roof if I had scars on my face, arms and torso.

Stretch marks are not age dependent. Many people develop them in their teens when they start puberty.

Not always. A lot of my issues around my weight stem from childhood and comments made by older people about my size and my body and comments about how I should or shouldn't eat XYZ because I'd get fat etc. Everything I ate was linked to getting fat or getting clear skin or my hair would be shiny etc. It was all connected to appearance.

"For me it depends.

Oh damn, I learn something new everyday! I thought that was just an old person thing that happens when someone reaches 30 or something. Thanks for the info!

My body has changed a lot after having my second child and I’m still coming to terms with how I look now.

A very kind family member told me my face is aging recently. That was nice of them

If I could wave a magic wand and fix all the parts I don’t like, I would. I don’t think that makes me vain in saying that though.

Oh yes, I have the usual lumps, bumps and scars of life's experiences. I have physical scars from when "he" had a knife and was faster as well as from intense BDSM session. I find scars incredibly erotic.

I have a lot of stretch marks and cellulite, not so many scars and wrinkles as others perhaps but I notice them as they’re on my body.

I think it’s easy for us to be critical of ourselves, but this lifestyle is helping me learn to love myself a little more and be kinder to myself.

After all, as a person, I am kind, generous, caring, and everything you could want in a friend, and that has NOTHING to do with the body I’ve been given, that’s all on the inside.

I don't think you are vain at all. It is good to like yourself, the external you as well as the internal you.

As you become "more senior" it suddenly clicks and you realise that you don't give a damn what others think. You are living your life for you and not for others no matter who they are.

Since menopause, my skin has changed drastically - texture/tone - and I keep getting weird acne-like eruptions on my body (still waiting on Dermatology appointment).

Most of them I don't care about, but the result of a botched episiotomy not only bothers me psychologically, but has caused a lot of issues over the years. Ditto for the lumps that are arthritis. I also dislike my stomach after 3 pregnancies but hey, overall I don't think I'm in that bad a shape for 57.

Anyone who knows what an episiotomy is, would totally get why a botched one would totally fuck things up. My perineal repair wasn't due to episiotomy but it wasn't nice, nonetheless.

Episiotomies cause a lot of problems at menopause too. Nobody tells you about it and medical professionals have no real solution.

I'm very self conscious most days my body repulses me. Ageing sucks and due to health issues the weight has piled on the last few years which has really rocked my confidence. I even say to people before we meet now are you sure you want to meet as I'm a big girl. I've also been subjected to a lot of body shaming on here receiving messages like you're too fat to fuck and who would be attracted to someone with all your wobbly bits. It's hard sometimes not to let it affect you
