Hey, has anyone seen a documentary/movie called
Searching for Sugar Man? It’s a fantastic story about a musician in America that had no success in the USA, but out in South Africa his music was everywhere, and he had no idea people even enjoyed his music. His real name is Sixto Rodriguez. I’m listening to him on Spotify right now. He’s got some brilliant tunes. I'd highly recommend checking the movie out-and-his music. |

Never seen the documentary. "Sugar Man" was perennially played on the radio in South Africa when I was a teen (80s). It was part of popular culture. It was news to me when we emigrated here and no one had ever heard of him! Lol!! I'm not even a big fan and I know the words to the bloody song because it got played so often! |
