"I liked a place called 'new plymouth' in new zealand.
Lovely coastal views, but with enough happening in the centre also.
I guess it's more of town than a city though.
"
You've been to a few places I'm guessing mate. Well travelled then?? |

Like others, I like Sydney and Barcelona too.
There was a place called "Scotland island" just outside Sydney that I stayed, peaceful. (You have to get a taxi boat to and from.)
Rishikesh in the north of India is an interesting place.
I've not been to Winchester here, one place on the "to go" list, also Totnes in Devon.. |

I like german cities as always lots to do, great choice of hotels and restaurants and the service probably the best in Europe. Athens is great if you know where to go as very cosmopolitan, lots of cultural stuf, great food and nice relaxed life style but not in all areas. Lisbon is also on my top ones for art music and food and close to some nice sea resorts too. |

Not overly a city fan but I love a couple I've lived in Cape Town especially, although I'll always have a soft spot for Nairobi too.
Most fun: New Orleans or Queenstown in New Zealand
In Europe: Venice

Hiroshima. It’s so peaceful and beautiful there and the weather is perfect too. So hot and sunny with beaches and islands nearby.
Also, there’s a restaurant I love that’s on the river, serving perfect Italian food… I could just sit there all day soaking up the atmosphere with some wine and pasta… in fact I have done, many times.
Definitely recommend. |

"Loved Hong Kong before it got handed back over. Bangkok is a bit special as well.
For Europe, Rome and Prague take some beating."
Nothing changed in 1997 it was the 2019 Hong Kong extradition bill that began the downhill spiral |

Forgot to add New Orleans. Fantastic experience (albeit I was there 6 weeks before Katrina hit ). |

New Plymouth is a good town, with the sea and mountains to hand. I've enjoyed my time there.
I think Edinburgh is probably my favourite city |

"Mexico city was wild
Prague before all the stag weekend bullshit trashed it
Bangkok has an unreal feel to it like in a time warp from the past "
You think Bangkok is like the past? I think it like it’s an alternative-reality version of the future |

"I lived in Budapest for seven years. Also spent a lot of time in Moscow, Yerevan, Tbilisi and Lagos.
What about Dundee?
Apparently 'the biggest village in Scotland'"
The only village in Scotland?? |

I think that’s what happen when you occupy a country you’ve no right to be in with a bunch of genocidal lunatics. |

As a rule, I don't really like cities but, I utterly love New York.
The theatres, the music, the smell of subway steam mixing with hotdogs and pretzels, the museums... just one of my favourite places on earth. |

Camberley occasionally doncaster |
In no particular order
Victoria in Vancouver Island - so clean.
San Diego. So many good memories there.
Reykjavik, apart from *everything* costs £43 million pounds.
Bangkok, definitely an experience, although traveling as a single guy everyone assumes you are a sex tourist (I go to train Muay Thai)
Munich at Christmas.
As much as many hate it, I also have a soft spot for London. I go to a shitload of music and art venues there. |

"I’m for Singapore too. Fantastic and clean. But a close second would be Wellington NZ. It’s just so fantastic a country of dreams"
Wellington is really nice, like a small version of Manchester. Lots of good clothes shops and great for charity shops |

"In order of preference.
1. San Francisco
2. New York City
3. Prague
4. Brussels
5. Riga
Worst places I've been to.
1. Barcelona
2. Paris
3. London"
Agreed on Barcelona. It’s the most overrated city in the world. I have been so many times with work and seriously I can’t see the appeal…
My favourite city is Cape Town in South Africa. I am in Seattle right now and it definitely is in my top 10.
Many cities on this thread I have to visit and tick off- especially in Eastern Europe and the Middle East |

Probably Barcelona. Really enjoy going over there and as it’s such a short flight it’s quite easy to go a lot.
I also really loved Cape Town but I would need to go back a few times to judge it properly |

I have travelled a lot in past and visited a few cities. I loved Prague, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Sydney etc but have to say New York City. The old and new architecture is amazing there, just like in the movies along with everything else the city had to offer |
