Well done op it's nice to see threads like this and see people helping others mental health can creep up on anyone so like op has said reach out and talk we need to help eachother as much as helping ourselves I have suffered with bipolar and ADHD since I was 13 and keeping it bottled up only hurts you more my inbox is open to anyone who is struggling and just needs to chat again nice one op |

We had a dec/Jan mental health thread which were very successful.
Look them up.
Went a bit quiet in Feb/March
Let's have an April mental health thread which I think you'd be a great OP |

I agree, especially for men of a weak disposition it could be brutal (good job I’m thick skinned like a rhinoceros) 
I can imagine false attention from some guys to gals to get them into bed could have a detrimental effect on well being if they don’t see it’s false.
Be careful out there folks

thanks! It can be really hard if you have no one to talk or chat with when you’re struggling. I saw you’re status I wish you a much better long weekend than the week you’ve had

I had someone message me the same yesterday but people seem to enjoy my posts so will continue trying to give people hope that things can be better after struggling myself

thanks pal things have being going much much better the last few months and my confidence is improving alot. Being sober from alcohol has helped a lot |

I am the family and friends nay even perfect strangers shoulder all my life until my late wife passed!
Then by the cringe I needed a shoulder,But I had No one! Anyhow I was referred to a proffesional counsellor who was a tiny young girl she was 26 very petite and a tomboy, just like my late wife.We used to meet for a coffee, and talk, apparently they are not allowed to enter peoples homes or share cars for safety sakes. Any how she was having a rough time with her live in girlfriend/Fiancé which was actually making her upset and depressed, we made a fine pair sitting in places like supermarket cafés with boxes of tissues and lots of damp ones. Anyhow I talked openly to her and she opened up to me, we met a few times more than we were supposed to but she thanked "ME" for helping her and listening. Of course she too helped me. Apparently I was the first person that had so much longer loving marriage, so akin to Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin. Of course its nothing new old time stars of stage and screen were there long before us and their "partners" were called Beards.
It is essential to talk to someone and get the angst, grief, despondency or whatever troubles us out in the open with a good listener and confidanté. In closing I am also here if anyone wants a chat, as sometimes anonymity may help. |

Brilliant attitude OP, genuinely love this idea
It's often those who have/are struggling who are happy to lend a listening ear. I suppose it's that shared experience of difficulties..
Either way, as someone who does struggle with their mental health, it doesn't define me, and anyone who doesn't understand that doesn't deserve my attention.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I’ve struggled with Anorexia for over 3 years and had pretty bad anxiety for a lot of years. I’m in recovery now and feel a sense of hope and positivity about the future that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
If me sharing my struggles helps anyone, it makes me happy.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve struggled with your mental health, and it doesn’t define me or you. There’ll be brighter times ahead for you to keep fighting and keep positive.  |

I love to travel apart from music That’s my other passion in life. The highlight of my week has got to be an email I got this afternoon offering to do some work experience at a local event lighting company. I got offered the chance to come in for a visit and look around about a year ago, but I was just too anxious on the day and couldn’t make it in the front door, but my confidence has improved massively in the last few months and I am feeling excited about it I really want to work in the event’s industry because of my love of music and attending concerts "

I struggle a lot tbh, don't have a big circle of friends and little family, not that they'd understand anyway. I hoped I'd make a few friends on here but it seems the opposite, kinda leaves me feeling even more 'unwanted' to be blunt.
It's lovely to here you offering support to others though OP. |
