Spinningfields is trendy and hip (with prices to match)
Northern Quarter has a good mix of things
Deansgate and Quay Street/Peter Street have a few bars and pubs of different kinds.
All depends on what you're into? There's some good traditional pubs hidden around, for example, but no point sending you there if you want cocktails on the 23rd floor.
What are you folks into and do you have the budget for the cocktail places?! |

Thanks for the time and effort to reply…
We’re just a ‘normal bunch’ of 40 years olds, so don’t want anything really young obvs so just good nice places, mix of pubs and yes some cocktails bars and a nightspot for the two nights too.
Done so much looking online but this was you’ll get a direct response so thanks again.
We’ll be in town around 11 on the Friday night after seeing a comedian so ideally head to one area for drinks then end of night spot.
The Saturday we’ll be free from around 2, so ideally head to an area and start there for day drinking and have a bite to eat late afternoon then move onto a more suitable area for the rest of the night.
Where you’ll you advise for end of night too…? Some like a dance and I’m one of the only single ones…..

"Anymore guys will be great …..
Thanks again
Most places in town, you can’t really go wrong anymore. "
Oh. Might be a good idea to stay away from Deansgate., and the moon underwater at closing time. It gets a bit crazy. |

"Thanks buddy, deansgate was recommended and the quay."
Salford Quays? It's not very lively at night.
If you like traditional pubs or similar, then there's the Briton's Protection; the Perevil of the Peak; the City Arms; Thomas's Chop House (Google for locations).
If you have a bit of money to burn, there's The Refuge; the Alchemist; Cloud 23 inside the Hilton and Spinningfields is full of trendy places.
Or, there's Revolución de Cuba, Alberts Schloss, BrewDog and a few other places on Peter Street/Quay Street.
All these are within about a mile and a half radius of each other. |

Hold fast , Newton St
Mean eyed cat , Oldham St , free pizza with every drink until 9pm I think
The millstone , Thomas St , a true manchester legendary pub
All in the northern quarter
Kampus just across from canal Street in the gay village
There's a few bars around a square
Wherever you go , manchester is a great city
