Genative AI is exciting, new and fast growing set of technologies that week content the way content creation is made (it well also mean a lot redundencies).
However when man has made a technological 20-21st century breakthrough he/she has somehow turned it to pornography.
Even with this exciting new technology democratised for everybodies use. There are some ethical issues.
Formostly the one talked about the most is copyright. The ai companies use reams of content (in the public domain) for training data, but since c of that content is debatable as to wheather it is fair use, forinstance you can view getty insights anywhere and everywhere. And lastly who owns the content. On the UK you can photograph mostly anyone in a public place (with caviats and good etiquette is also helpful). Legally the person who takes the photograph is the copyright holder from the point of creation. With an AI generated image, is it the person who owbs the image, the software, the person the image is of or the people who images were diffused into creating the image? Legally under the Bern 1886 agreement. The copyright holder cousins the ebtiraty of the c work and can't claim parts of it.
The second ethical issue that is less debated. Is more specific to AI porn. At the moment most AI porn ate deep fakes. Stick someone head on to another body. However with creation of SORA (realeased last week) one can now create videos from seemingly out of nowhere.
Most people who are sex positive are not likely to join swingers site or create publically consumable pornography. So one question is should that individual have right and profits over the work as they technically have rights over their likeness.
Now most people probably won't care if someone made an artificial video of them shagging. Alas our society regardless of how open and equal we think it is still. Is still not.
There are positions in society where one has to air a dene a of prude forinstance a teacher. Artificial pornergraphic content be damaging to the careers of that individual or penny then being taken seriously.
Due to some in society holding non progmatic or liberal values and public roles reflecting this traditional values. Some have used the AI porn as a wepon to attack or intimidate individuals. Two examples are one against an irish mp and the other against anti porn campaigner. These acts of crime were committed by mysoginists. AI porn is predominantly made by men for men.

I’m a recent convert to AI , as a technologist I’ve always understood it but only just started using it in the last for work. It’s primarily text to document or IT assets, eagerly awaiting testing Devin by Cognition, been on the waiting list a while.
Not much text to video I’ve played around with images - mid journey and leonardo on images, I actually ran a course setting up Midjourney for photo realistic settings and prompting techniques. I have designers using those tools daily.
Can’t comment on porn doesn’t interest me but keep an eye on the AI act it deals with a lot of the ethical issues |

New legislation regarding indecent images also covers AI generated content. And copyright law hasn't changed.
So if AI content is created using stock images, personal images or sourced from any existing work, it would still fall foul of the law re copyright breaches.
Whether it's the face that's been swapped, bodies, or just an amalgamation of several images used as a source.
AI images are already being used in advertising. Photographers as a whole aren't fans because obviously they will miss out on work. And of course with AI what you see isn't always a true representation of something, so there's an element of 'fakery' whether it's a porn shot, a car ad or a plate of food.

Reverse image serch is a AI tool that tbh is not that great atm relatively. However it will only improve especially with AI images.bbing chat can already teverse image search AI images. |

Wonderful post OP.
I think the first ethical issue you mentioned falls under the theme of what happens when AI takes away your job. At some point, they could just recreate actors and animate them in films to the point you won't be able to figure out whether it's the real actor or their animation, basically making all actors go jobless. Hell they can even make different versions of each actor based on the film.
I don't see this as any different from a robot taking away a plumber's job after watching the plumber doing his job.
In the past everytime automation took away one job, it always led to another job. But we are slowly reaching a point when AI is going to be as good as humans in many jobs where joblessness is going to be a real problem. We need a consensus on how to run that economy. I believe UBI could be a solution.
As for your second ethical concern, I was never a fan of the law that allows strangers to take my picture and use it. I value my privacy. I don't think one's likeness should be used on porn or anything else for that matter, unless they gave their permission. |

Try taking the fake AI profile out on a date and you will realise they don’t work and real people are better

Been tinkering with Leonardo for this, and you can do some quite interesting stuff, although it would be even better if you're into amputees. Sometimes it can chuck out something quite good though.
I think it's here to stay, regardless of what people think about it. The genie is definitely out of the bottle. Anyone can run it on a home PC as well, and I really do think it's a matter of time until we have fully AI generated movies, adult or otherwise. |
