Rescued baby hedgehog turns out to be...
Jump to: Newest in thread
Daughter, and I found a tiny baby hedgehog during the day on the side of a busy road last year. Rang the local sanctuary and they were closed. Rang a vets and they said to bring it in, so we did. There was some discussion of us taking it back? Which I totally understood, but it was tennis ball size, and obviously mum must have had a sad ending, or it wouldn't have been desperate enough to be out during the day, on its own? They did keep it there in the end. |

"
Have you done an Easter name swap, Nanna, with Essex Tom?"
Tom would have told us that the hoglet hat bobble was found in a remote Northern place called Knutsford, where the fireplace in the Rose and Crown was first lit in 1841. |

"Was this accidentally released today instead of Monday? I can't imagine anyone who regularly works with animals genuinely thinking a hat bobble was a hoglet. "
The finder kept it overnight in a box lined with newspaper plus a bowl of food. She took it in the morning to the sanctuary who immediately realised it was a pompom. |

I read the autobiography of a zoo vet once who was called to some baby armadillos who turned out to be woodlice .

"This reminds me of the episode of One Foot in the Grave where Victor accidentally puts his foot in a dead hedgehog in the dark, instead of his slipper.
Was it a tortoise ?"
Oh, I'm not sure, now you've said that. I'll see if I can find out. |

How likely is it for someone to think they have found abandoned baby armadillos ! Were they on the way to Amarillo ? |
